Mine's totally standard - if it IS a factory build I only ordered the car on about 9th Jan, and of course there's two weeks cooling off so the order can't have been 'official' until more like 23rd Jan, so from order to delivery in under a month? Possible I guess, but bloody Nora that's fast.

I'm guessing BMW had a few unsold build slots that were sold cheaply, hence the cheap looking lease cost and fast delivery.

Residuals in two years will be interesting.

Yeah, guess that must be it - they were able to lock in the spec at the last minute and that was that. I don't know what sort of numbers these cars will sell in, but I don't imagine this small number will have too much of a detrimental effect on residuals? I suppose BM considered it far worse for loads of pre-reg 8GCs to appear on forecourts in March!

Are these all coming through Williams as well?

Edit: I think it looks like mine was ordered on the 20th Jan...

Mine's coming from the BMW dealer near Gatwick I think.

Vines. It's where I hoped mine would come from as it's just up the road from me whereas Williams are 250-odd miles away. I wonder if the other ones arriving quickly are all through them too?

Yeah, that's them. Under 100 miles to me (near Stansted airport), whereas Manchester would be 200 miles or so.

I thought mine was coming from Gatwick as that's what it said on the finance paperwork but when I called them it turned out that it was actually coming from Williams Manchester

This has thrown a spanner in the works.

Dealer has somehow changed to Williams BMW Manchester. The finance documents were incorrect.

I need to work out what to do now.

Finance paperwork was incorrect - definitely coming from Williams Manchester.

I'm going to get it delivered.

I haven't asked, but just seen my new reg and it'll be on Manchester plates so assume mine is also coming from there, not Vines.

The delivery/collection thing was mentioned a few pages back; I rang Williams and spoke to their fleet guy to ask if trailered delivery was an option, he said yes but only if I pay for it.

Due to the margin on the deal, it's driven delivery or collection only.

Would be a nice way to get to know your new car - train there, drive home.

I'm getting mine delivered, 180 miles is too much to remove from mileage allowance if I collected.

Free driven delivery.

I'm same, 200 odd miles took off my allowance straight away if I collect.

Thanks. Am I missing something here? Why would anyone want trailer/collection then? Saves all that hassle if someone delivers to your door no?

Trailer means nobody has driven the car before you really, whereas this delivery will mean 200 miles are on the car - it will also possibly be dirty. I see it as starting the running in process...

Collection is for those who just like the whole dealership experience really (and are impatient and want the car ASAP!).

Whereabouts are you? I'm just south of Stortford, will keep an eye out for yours!
