It is - completly agree. That said, the 5k miles a year I do will be v enjoyable and the cost over 2 years isn't a million miles away from the 530e. Bargain at these rates.

This is probably going to annoy, but I didn't even need it, just went for it as it was cheap...

I was planning a purchase in the next two years, but this passed the wife test, and I ordered it!

Yeah, mine's on 10k/yr and I'll definitely use that so at least 1x service and 1x set of tyres..!

Once I have a delivery date I'll get the GAP sorted using the price-match Ayman recommended earlier.

Question on the insurance though; I'm about halfway through the year on my existing policy with QMH and they've quoted way more to amend to the new car than to start a new policy. I've currently got either 9 (or 10, can't recall off the top of my head) years no-claims - if I start a new second policy with them, move the no-claims across and then cancel the first one will I lose the accrued NCD for this year? Normally I've just changed the policy and then shopped around at the renewal so I'm not sure what the process would be with doing the above.
I would check how much your insurance is with 9 or 10 years and see if it's worth losing the NCD.

You're likely to lose it if it you're starting a new policy. That's why I'm changing my vehicle on mine, as I'm 8 months in to a 6 year NCD bonus, ready for 7 in June.

I've had a quote for GAP of £118.07 that I need to buy soon.
That price looks alright for GAP - could you share who that’s from please? Thanks.

I wouldn't lose all of it, I think I'd only lose the 'x' months accrued on this year by cancelling. I was hoping that if I start the new policy first and transfer it across then it might count as contiguous... Perhaps one to pose in the Insurance forum...

Sorry - yes that's what I meant.

Some helpful folks have already replied on the thread I started - I'd lose the 5-6 months accrued toward the 10th year but as the difference is between £549 (new policy with Quotemehappy) and paying an additional £196 to amend the existing policy (already with Quotemehappy, taking the total premium for this year to £872!) it's cheaper to start a new policy.

Get a quote from TotalLossGap - https://totallossgap.co.uk/quote/2/1,
Ask ALA to price match via info@ala.co.uk (I'm currently speaking to Lee@ala.co.uk).
It will be approx. £118.07.

Depending on your protection levels.

Totalloss quoted me £95.99 not sure if I’ve done something wrong or price has changed.

9+23 @ £325 also
The £118.07 is including £3000 upfront payment protection.

First post on this thread but was lucky enough to secure a deal with G2L. Car due to arrive at the dealer mid March. Excited at the prospect as coming from a 530e. Hope all goes well with delivery etc for those who were able to jump on this deal and you all enjoy your new rides!
Iam assuming the 530e is through pink like mine. Are u having to pay an early termination fee on it?

Yes same deal through Pink / Total Motion (£360 per month / 18 month contract?). I've only got 2 months left so expect them to charge me the full £720. Might be lucky and see a discount (on previous leases, non BMW - VW for example, I've only been charged 55% of the outstanding installments). The 530e being inspected on Monday by Techinspect (anyone had dealings with them before?) in preparation of anticipated car return late March.

NFU have quoted £434 with £250 excess, nine years no claims. Apparently they will replace with new if the cost of repairs is over 60% of value even with it being a lease, but I will confirm this is writing with the local agent.

I still haven't seen one in the flesh, which feels a bit weird.

Same.... I haven't even seen a regular Coupe on the road yet, let alone a Gran Coupe. I should drag myself to my local BMW dealer really.

Having checked with the head bod, NFU don't cover replacement so I'll get gap insurance.

They'll have to pay out to a given value, surely. The GAP will cover any shortfall left over.

Yes, but if I owned it they'd provide a new car for the first two years if stolen or written off.

Do you have a contact for that insurance co for the quote you have.. that seems decent if they have quoted on the owner of the car being a lease co?

Closest i can get 40+ 14yrs NCD is 530 with £500 excess
