Q for those Of you who have taken delivery. Are you running it in / taking it easy for the first 1200 miles or giving full beans from the start?!

Not got mine yet but my logic is always as long as its up to temp drive it as you wish. I did baby my Golf R in 2014 for the first 1250 miles and had a mate who nailed it from day dot. My car never felt as responsive.

Now, it could of been for a number of reasons sure, but I believe it was because i nursed it too much.

Still enjoyed the Golf R mind, especially at 207 a month with options.

Think I’m going to keep it at ‘seven tenths’ until about 1200 miles and then go for it. Also had a lease Golf R in 2014 (more expensive at 270 however). Wife did most of the driving from day one back then - it had a hard life...... she has no mechanical sympathy!! Was as good as gold though.

That looks stunning. Also not helping my regret of the black interior...!

I have to keep repeating the mantra, "Black won't show marks. It's a lease. Black won't show marks. It's a lease. Black won't show marks...."

hehe

I think I'd only be interested for a car that I owned, wasn't easy to replace and that I had an emotional attachment to. None of which apply smile

Same. I'm not going to abuse it but neither am I going to nanny it or pay people to do things like paint correction etc on it when it's going back in 2 years' time...

I am putting one one. It was £399 and was on my S5. Way cheaper than an insurance excess. Also got one on the wifes A6 lease. Again ill move it over to the next car. Fantastic things and you very quickly get used to it. Would always have one i think.

I think this deserves a drum roll as the person responsible for getting us lot into this car! If only you could have taken a tiny commission...

Meanwhile, my pissin b pillar trim is off again. Had a look at it and two clips are firmly snug into the trim where as they should be perminantly housed in the metalwork! Not sure if this is a part or assembly issue. Either way I'm gonna have to book the thing in to BMW. I can only hope for an interesting loan car...
