Mine gave me a message to say to download the connected app from the appstore to speed it up but on my connected app on my phone it says no update available. Any way of getting it to update whilst the car is sitting outside the house or does the ignition need to be in? Mine hadn't moved from 0% in the 10 minutes of driving just now! BMW recommends carrying out the Remote Software Upgrade as soon as it becomes avail‐ able.
The data for the Remote Software Upgrade is automatically downloaded to the vehicle when available.
For safety reasons, it is only possible to install the downloaded upgrade while at a standstill. The installation will not begin until it has been confirmed at the vehicle.
▷ Installation can take around 20 minutes.
▷ Installation cannot be interrupted.
▷ The vehicle cannot be used during installa‐ tion.
Via iDrive:
1. "CAR"
2. "Settings"
3. "General settings"
▷ You may leave the vehicle during installation.

So mine's updated but does NOT appear to have Android Auto. Car Play is there but not AA.
Very annoying. The phone can see it - it says "BMW 12345 - Wireless Android Auto Available' but it won't connect. There's nothing in the car's menu system mentioning it either.
What's the betting that 'builds prior to xyz date are not compatible'...?

Have you tried doing a reset below the software upgrade section, that is what brought all my connected drive apps into my car. It could be that possibly?Very annoying. Same thing here. It’s downloaded 7% and now stuck and app is showing no update available. Anyone have any advice?I updated mine. It was funny experience , stuck at 7 prc... I turned on the engine and it somehow started loading package from my phone again. Whole process took more than an hour. Once done...there was no AA! I was mad but held rotary dial down on Installed Apps section ( on the left hand pane , under Apps) . New screen appeared to refresh apps. Waited another few mins and then it showed up. You must be inna good reception area too. It only works with Galaxy family ( S9 plus tested) and new staff on Android 11.0. ... so fairly limited use now. .....

Interesting, I did an app refresh but nothing appeared. Perhaps it's done so in the background now, I'll check it in a bit...But I liked what I saw a lot!
