Are you not seeing Spotify under the media list on left hand side or in applecar play or android auto ?
Just found this vid that describes what’s in the update that may be useful for some https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&...

I have experienced all the same issues. Once I had info that ready to install I just started the car. As I was reversing from drive update kicked in. Very long process. I have AA and Spotify. Some ixons changed.on cluster. You can now open Windows and switch to Sport mode using voice commands. Nice. Hope you all get it sorted shortly.

When I first got the car I could see Spotify under the media list, but at some point it disappeared. Since I was using BMW's connected music it didn't make any difference to me.Just found this vid that describes what’s in the update that may be useful for some https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&...
Recently, after BMW's music went down, I switched to using Spotify. I can see and use it through Apple Carplay, but it is effectively using Spotify on my phone, which is a little clunky and uses my phone data. I was hoping to have the Spotify app built in to the car, as was there at the beginning, but for me at least the update hasn't done this.
Does anyone else have the Spotify app as a Media option - i.e. the car has the Spotify app, not just mirroring an iPhone?

Basically, while you’re logged into one of the music apps on the car (BMW connected music) Spotify won’t show up. I think it only allows ones music app at a time. So if you log out of your BMW connected music app (Napster etc) Spotify app will return on the media system again and you can use it directly via your car without the need to connect your phone app. Recently, after BMW's music went down, I switched to using Spotify. I mentioned this a few pages back as I was in the same predicament as you! Hope that helps

Apologies I missed that post. I still haven't found it. Could you tell me how to log out of BMW Music? - I can see how to remove it from the Personalised Menu but I can't find an option to log out, so I still can't see Spotify.I mentioned this a few pages back as I was in the same predicament as you! The voice recognition seems to have improved for me as was struggling with it previously... like the way it understands ‘open drivers window - open half - open a bit ‘ especially as I’m too lazy to press the button :-)I have experienced all the same issues. So I logged out of the connected music Napster account by selecting a song and then pressing the physical option button on the console. Once pressed, there’s an option to sign out of it. Once I signed out the Spotify icon came back! From there, you must log in manually via email address and password and NOT QR code. Otherwise you’ll have keep logging in every time. Jamran said:

Perfect. Thank you Jamran, that worked.Jamran said:

Did you manage to trigger your update? QueQwamo said:
how do you check which version of software you are on?
From memory...Car > General > Settings > Check for software update
On another note, has anyone had the latest maps 2020.3 come onto the car yet? I'm on 2020.2 at the moment, but I've got 2020.3 from the website for our M2 so I'm guessing it should be coming down the line at some point.

Ah, I really want Android Auto, have been waiting and checking for literally months.
It came up as ready a little while ago, then said it couldn't. So no idea on the criteria!
As good as the Germans are at engineering they’re equally as bad at software and UI implementation. It came up as ready a little while ago, then said it couldn't. So no idea on the criteria!
