The voice recognition seems to have improved for me as was struggling with it previously... like the way it understands ‘open drivers window - open half - open a bit ‘ especially as I’m too lazy to press the button :-)
laugh That's got to be peak lazyness, I'd no idea the voice control on modern cars stretched so far. Makes sense from a technical perspective of course!

FFS, look what just showed up 5 days after installing the update....

There are still other bugs though. In the 'Head Up Display' section there is an option to have 'Sport Displays' show when 'In SPORT mode' (adds the rev counter coloured bars in the HUD). This used to work but no longer does when switching to Sport mode. It only works when it is set to 'Always' - this then appears whether in Sport, Eco, Adaptive etc. It's not a problem but it is a bug and something else that's not working properly.

Set HUD to show Sport displays when 'In SPORT mode':

HUD does not show revs (the red line shows it is in Sport mode):

However, when set to 'Always' - the revs appear (car is still in Sport mode):

I still have the issue with bass cutting out of the audio occasionally.

Since having the software upgrade by the dealer last Thursday ( 07/2020.60 ) the issue with the bass has not returned so Im hoping its been cured. No other glitches Ive noticed albeit Im not really looking that hard atm.

Sorry for the dumb question but what tyre pressures are you using front and back? I got a message to check the pressures which i've inflated to 41 fronts and 48 rears per the doorcard but the message wont go away.

Not tried it in this car but on every other BMW I've had you'll probably need to reset the sensors through the iDrive and the message will go away.

It tells you on the screen and its the first time I've seen a car change what the recommended pressure is as you drive and the car warms up (presumably taking into account tyre temperature and ambient temperature).

Upgraded today and the few bits of coding I'd had done have disappeared including showing both pressure and temperature which is a tad annoying but not as bad as asisted lane change going.

It is for ecological driving according to BMW as far as I understand it.... my car war originally set to 2.6 bar at all corners but reading the door plate i set it to 2.4 front and 2.8 back - idrive would not accept it - had warnings and limp home kick in - at the same time I had the issue of not being able to pump up tyres at petrol station and had to buy a compressor - changed to 2.8 each corner and all fine - wont be touching it again - this is a fickle car !!!

I had the message to inflate my tyres today. I've entered 41 PSI front and 35 rear, as per the plate, reset the indicator through the iDrive and all good

Mine took roughly the same. I think BMW must have had some issues centrally that prevented it from being deployed.

Wouldn't have been so bad if there'd been some kind of information that AA might take some time to show up. No other device of any kind I've ever updated has ever said, "Done!" with bits missing and suddenly appearing a week later. Very strange way to manage things.

All this connected stuff is a bad idea - one day BMW will decide it's not worth the hassle of supporting a 20-year-old car's iDrive and it'll be left either inoperable or without support/functionality...

.... 35 front 41 rear works best for me... the trick seems to be having the car save the settings whilst driving

The pressures it seems to ask for seem very high compared to other cars I've owned. Is it down to the weight and RFTs? Mine (in eco) wants 3.4 bar all-round which is 49psi..! eek

Well I have had AA show up but can't seem to get my phone to connect to it. Not used AA for a while and possibly user error! Do I have to have the AA app open on my phone at the same time? Asume it need to connect via BT and not WiFi? I have a Huawei P30 Pro...

Are your reading it off the display in the car? The pressure requested goes up as you drive reflecting the warmer tyre and therefore higher pressure. Mine askes for about 42psi when cold buy after a drive and everything has warmed up its 45-46psi (so still short of 49psi I admit but a lot closer)

Regarding the update, I've still not been able to trigger it. I reset the vehicle data, but that did nothing, so had to put everything back to normal.
Apparently a really long drive is required, something like 100 miles, to get the battery charged up enough to do the update. Which is really annoying. As there's nowhere to go.

Yeah, it seems to be between 3.2 and 3.4 bar on mine - if I set it to 'non-eco' that drops a bit. I'm not exactly flinging it around the roads so the eco option suits me.

I don't think the Huawei supports wireless Android Auto - it's only things like Google Pixels and some Samsungs. Your Huawei may well do wired AA but the BMW system has skipped that entirely going straight to the wireless one.

Edit: Looks like the Huawei AA is USB-only unfortunately: https://consumer.huawei.com/uk/support/article-lis...
