Also why are there two apps that appear to do the same thing? There's 'My BMW' and 'Connected'...
Connected is the old app, My BMW is the new one.

Not checked the thread in a while - hope everyone is doing ok.

Still loving the car. Few foibles at the moment - since the latest update my iDrive screen and the central map shut down randomly. Never had the issue before. They usual reboot after about 30 seconds. Weirdly, I seem to be able to force it to happen by pressing the skip track buttons on the central console.

Also still experiencing squealy brakes - not the type that go away after a few hard presses on the motorway. Expect ill book the car in for the above next week.

Still really enjoying mine, lovely to drive, decent levels of performance and looks good. Shamefully have only done 4000 of my 12000 mileage limit but that's been a product of lockdown and wfh for a year! The rear indicator failure warning has started reappearing again tho. Very annoying!
That's strange, I just had that last night. I thought it was the anniversary present I was waiting for from BMW!
Mine's just thrown that error tonight as well. The other left-hand indicators flashed double-time which was weird; I'd have thought that only happened with bulbs not with LEDs..?

Anyway, it seemed to clear itself up and the indicator was working fine by the end of the journey although the error message remained on the dash. Does that clear itself or does it need a dealer to do it?

Loathe to book it in unless I really have to, it's such a faff.

Separately, the latest update is installing now so it'll be interesting to see what bugs or issues it fixes. Or introduces... hehe

Edit: Interestingly the update appears to have cleared the indicator warning message for the time being.

Question for other owners - I got routed along this road yesterday and decided that there was no point risking this width restrictor. Would any of you have been brave enough to have gone for it..?

https://www.google.com/maps/@51.4071956,-0.8313473...

According to the car dimensions it would leave less than 3.5cm of room for error each side, not helped by the fact that there's a curve there too and the car's 5m long.

Stupid and pointless road-fkery by the council.

The indicator error returned this morning, it's booked in to the dealer for them to sort. Anyone know what the fix is for it..? Replacement module or cluster presumably?

I checked this morning and it seems it's the part on the boot lid that's intermittent, the outer part on the rear quarter is working.

definitely wouldn't be going through that but i guess i might have said differently if this car had the 360 cameras. those are really good.

This might have been mentioned before, but has anyone had issues where the radio just cuts out, and when I press a preset button it comes back on again, then will cut out shortly again. It's fairly annoying.

For me only when using carplay but it seemed fairly obvious its linked to doing something like starting waze. It seems to switch to the phone audio as the source which isn't playing anything and pressing the preset switches it back again.

I have an issue since the last iDrive update where the main screen and map on the digital instrument panel disappear randomly and then come back on within 30 seconds. Its like it reboots itself. Happens more often when i am connecting via bluetooth and playing music that way. Weirdly, I can almost always prompt it to happen by pressing the skip track button on the dash. Not had time to take it in yet.

Do Leasys allow a reduction on mileage, I as I assume a lot of others will most likely not get anywhere near the 16k contract mileage.

It's when using Android Auto only, it's very frustrating. It's been working better of late.

Mine's on 4k out of a 10k/yr allowance which started in July. I don't know if Leasys will allow amendments down but I'm going to leave mine where it is for the time being and review in July. With the vaccines rolling out hopefully there will be scope to do more over the course of the next 12-18months. I'm also planning to extend mine at the back end so might try and negotiate that down for the final six months if I still have plenty of mileage to play with. I got caught out the same on my last car - I extended that for 6 months too, upping the mileage slightly....only to go into lockdown a month or two later!

The other way I look at it is that the deal on this car is so extraordinarily good that I can't really gripe if I've paid a little extra for unused miles.

Update on the indicator issue - BMW said it was a software issue and they re-flashed something-or-other. We'll see if it comes up again...

I don't get this. However, the Android Auto connection is Wifi, not BT, so maybe that makes a difference?

It’s highly likely I’ll exceed my 10k pa miles as I use the car for business as well as pleasure and with work absolutely bonkers atm the travel will increase - however I’m happy enough paying the extra 26p plus vat over and above contracted miles as the car just takes the strain away from a long business trip and infact I now look forward to it - not really had that sort of enjoyment out of a car before so for me this is a great deal and fantastic vehicle - to add to this now the car has done nearly 9k miles it definitely out performs quoted Bmw performance figures - something I’ve had opportunity to test regularly when ejecting from the m6 toll booths ;-)

You might want to check your excess mileage amount - I think it was more like double what you've said..?

Got my car back from the dealer after a day for the recall to be sorted. All done, can't tell any difference but glad it's done quickly. Not like the nightmare 8 weeks I had to have a rental car while the dealer had my 520d in their car park waiting for back order of replacement parts!

It’s correct as per my leasys contract 26ppm plus vat- some of you may have slightly different terms - I believe that was the case over the ved increase ???

My app also says 26p+VAT but someone asked earlier in the thread and the contract is what matters; the app wasn't correct. My contract is 40.96p inc VAT per mile over 20k miles (which is the same as Amatuerish's 34p+VAT).

I'd check your contract - I'd be surprised if yours is significantly different to the rest of ours...?
