I just leave mine set at 21.5 and “auto” and don’t have to touch it. I did once accidentally turn off A/C and thought it was broken. It shares a button with the menu button and I’d not realised I’d accidentally mashed it.

Gave the car a good pre wash / wash then wax today - I have problems with birds ( feathered ) using the car for target practice so the wax does help protect it especially when it’s a seagull hit :-(

Dravit really does look great - here's mine after its valet last week, you can see the gold fleck in the sun:

Benito - get a ceramic coating on yours. I have similar bird-related issues and the ceramic coating pretty much put an end to the damage bird st can do.

Would you recommend it applied professionally - I’m guessing it’s not cheap or can you use one of the diy options available at Halfords for similar results! I’m happy to pay for a professional finish tbh

I find mine doesn't work brilliantly in the heat either, and my 8 is a Coupe without the rear unit. Bit odd in a car that otherwise seems excellent in all areas!
Mine’s a coupe too and a/c appears to work fine
I'm pretty sure mine is working fine too. I just don't think it's a very good system as I've had other cars with better, that was the point I was trying to make.

My valeter did it as it needed to be applied to a clean car. I'm not sure what product it was though I'm afraid.

The Dravit pops when sunny - displaying a mix of grey green and gold flecks - other colours pop too !!!

I agree, it's very weak in my GC. Too weak.

So 8ve been heading into the (new) office recently which now involves a new multistorey car park with those rightly curved ramps... God it makes me a nervous wreck - it 'fits', insofar as ive not yet kerbed it but I'm sure it's a matter of time! Why do they make the kerbs in these places so bloody big and angry looking!
Yeah I get you. I had to go to a hospital app and the multi story entrance was awful - you almost had to do a 180 as you came up the ramp and it was very tight. Ended up scuffing a wheel, first time since I had my Golf R in 2014 - so have got it booked in for a repair in 28th of this month.

Well after almost a year of running this car and driving 10k miles I’m still enjoying the experience and receiving regular compliments over its looks and dravit grey metallic- out of interest has anyone approached Leasys as yet to confirm what arrangements are possible to extend lease ?
I haven't but read a good few pages back that you can extend for 6 months with same terms? I would fancy another year if I am honest given there is nothing else out there at this value. Currently on 5,200 miles and come July 1st I will have had the car a year. So if I can extend for 12 months and the terms have to be re-negotiated, I would be only needing 5k miles for that last year. Depends all on the price really.

I've got a couple of scuffs on 3 wheels now, they seem to attract it despite best efforts! Have decided to leave them for now and deal with them all at the end of the lease, otherwise I could end up paying several times for the same wheel. Also isn't there a limited number of times you can repair a diamond-cut surface?

Yep same here, I took mine in to get them looked at and was quoted £150 per wheel, but warned they could likely only be repaired once or twice in their lifetime. I think I’ll live with it until I trade the car in, then only fix if it adds that value back

Also worth waiting to see what Leasys charge for a wheel refurb rather than doing it yourself - for my Golf R through Arval it was £50/wheel which was cheaper than I could've had it done so I left it be. As it happens they didn't even consider the scuffs worth charging for in the end and the car went back with no additional costs at the end which was nice.

I think with 20" diamond-cut wheels and a 30/35 profile tyre it's almost impossible NOT to incur some sort of damage unfortunately.

I drove in convoy with a grey 840i yesterday in Stratford Upon Avon at about noon. It was a 20 reg Williams car so maybe a PHer? Reg ended "VOM".

I've hardly driven it and been *so* careful and still managed to scuff the nearside rear and that's despite the Pirellis having pretty good rim protection. The S5 I had before on 19s with 255/35 tyres seemed to fair far better in this respect, i wish BMW used 40/35 instead of 35/30 on 20" wheeled cars. The M8 has meatier sidewalls interestingly.

Auto Renew in Liverpool are gonna do mine for £75. They already did a wheel repair on my wifes Touareg and it was spot on.

Had a run out to north Wales on Sunday to some of my favourite driving roads B4391 etc and with some roads being slightly off the tourist trail were not too busy at all ….. anyway something I’ve discovered is with car in sports plus the exhaust will occasionally’pop’ at speed on the down shifts …. Helped make the twisties and the sheer drop to the valley floor below a very enjoyable drive !!
Have to say for such a big car it does handle well when conditions demand - bit scary on some of the narrower roads and tighter turns but still fun :-)

For those of you who are looking/hoping to extend your lease, I'll be the bearer of bad news.

You CAN extend informally for up to 5 months on the same pm rate BUT no additional milage is given (this will help some who have not done anywhere near their mileage allowance)

If you want to extend formally (1-3) years then the new price is £1000+

So i just informally extended up to 5 months or when I reach my mileage allowance.
