I presume he means nearly down to the cords?

As Pica says, you may be fine. Post pics of the wear.
They've quickly gone from looking normal to this:

As you can see, they're not down to the wear indicator in the centre yet but the outside has just disappeared. The car has continued to drive completely normally. If anything, the pressures may have been a little low from time to time. - It's my wife's car and she has about a 33 mile (each way) commute. Recent weather and the dark mornings & evenings have meant it's not had as much attention as it would in the summer.

Check out Costco’s current deal on Goodyear’s (assuming you’re a member). It’s £80 off a set of 4x 18” tyres. They fill the tyres with nitrogen, 5 year warranty they provide themselves. Have used them plenty and they’ve always done a good job.

Have had a look on their website. - That seems to be the best deal on equivalent tyres and there's a Costco only a couple of miles away so I'll see if I can get it booked in. Thanks everyone. thumbup

It is too low a pressure.

Because of the super rigid sidewall when you run the pressure too low you end up driving on the edges far more than a regular tyre.

However, with BMWs the inside edge usually wears quicker due to the higher negative camber they use.

I saw that on our 5GT with Bridgestones a few years back.

Just reread the origina post again, Bridgestone run flats too. Doesn't surprise me.

See it is a 3 series, I just had a set of 4 Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetrical 5's 18's fitted to our 3 series through blackcircles for £425 all in.

Good tyres, but I think I maybe the Efficient Grips might have been better, quieter, more comfy and suit the family motor even more. Oh, and they were £396 fitted.
