Afternoon, many thanks for the PM. Bit too pricey for me though that one. Ive found a 635d 50 miles North of me which I intend to look at next Saturday(Mrs back at work this week so I'm on child duty working from home during the week)

Its just under 90K, 2008 58 plate, missing Sat Nav / Widesrcreen , but cup holder at £7400. Looks in great condition.
Looks very tidy, Literally the only one I've seen without Pro Nav and one of only now 3 with small screen. Spec is decent though apart from that and colour is lovely. The wheels on it are standard and forged so quite sort after wink

I Don't think a diesel suits the cars design and lines, personally I think a nice petrol engine is where these should be.

Good luck cool

635d + remap would have a decent turn of pace.

Just run it through the VIN decoder, no Logic7 unfortunately.

It's on Autotrader as well. Not sure I want a convertible, but nice car though.

I started looking for a coupe before picking a convertible, they drive very similar, with only a hint of shake over a bad road surface. What sold the convertible for me was the refinement with roof up, the pillarless side profile with windows down (the coupe has fixed c pillars) the rear buttress style profile of the roof when raised and the back window can be lowered independently (also acts as a wind break for rear passengers). Gimmicky yes maybe but a bit of fun. Also the boot on the convertible is big, more so with the roof storage folded up!

Little tip for logic7, you can tell if the factory system speakers are installed by looking at the speaker /tweeter grills, if you spy silver cones in there then these are logic7 😉. As others have said they are quite rare, my car has the pro wide-screen nav and standard sub style speakers under the rear seats and it sounds great even with the roof down. If you look on bmw forums there are installs with aftermarket systems which are reportedly better than logic 7 for less cost.

Many will say a diesel convertible doesn't make sense as the sound is rubbish, but the 635d's 6 cyl sounds muscular and has a good growl when pushing on, plus the torque over the 630i is considerable.

Good luck with the search!

Nice facelift 630i cropped up on Facebook, location appears to be Manchester

FOR SALE: 2007 630i (facelift).
Just 72k miles verified via MOT history, current MOT until Jan 2020, full service history, lovely spec, paddleshift auto with pano roof, ivory leather and black sapphire metallic.
A few minor age related marks but overall very good condition for it's year. Sits very nicely on Eibach Pro Kit springs and 15mm spacers (fitted less than twelve months ago), with a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres with loads of tread remaining. Recent new discs and calipers up front and coil packs replaced.
It drives flawlessly and feels like a much newer car. Will be given a fresh service prior to sale and needs an O2 sensor which I will also sort.
Looking for £6,500 o.v.n.o. Whoever has this will be very pleased with it. I love it but have had an opportunity to buy a mint F-Type V6S which I collect on Saturday, so the 6 needs to go to a new home.
Happy to discuss at length with interested parties and send a walk-around video prior to viewing. However, please do not waste my time or yours sending insulting offers well below market value.
Get in touch if you're interested. I'll be taking some proper photos later this week once I've given her a clean which I can forward on.

Good evening. I’ve just finished 6 stellas and purchased this one via a deposit to reserve until collection at the weekend. Just hope it’s got the right engine when I lift the bonnet!!

https://www.jbmotorcentre.co.uk/used-bmw-6-series-...

I started looking at 635d despite saying I must have a 630 due to Bristol diesel ban so apologies to those of you that went off in that direction to help me. However I couldn’t bring myself to spend almost £7500 on the on 635d I was going to look at, that would’ve given me 4 diesels outside the house and I really needed a petrol. Otherwise sell one of my dervs to make space for a petrol and, well, start shopping for another small petrol car if I had the 635d. Anyhow, I’ve been watching this one for awhile and exchanged a few messages with the dealer and he contacted me as soon as the extra videos and photos were up on his site. I tried to take on board as much info as you gave me regarding the engine types etc. This one has sat nav widescreen, factory tints, folding mirrors, extended interior light package, cream leather and a few other bits. driver seat looks a bit saggy but to be expected after 120k miles and 14 years. No cup holder though!! Not that I allow drinking in my cars!! Good history. Only downside is one key so I’ll be looking at how to get another.

I’ll await the “oh you shouldn’t get that one...” “... that’s my old car and I smashed that into a tree” etc but I don’t have the patience to travel over 120 miles to kick the tyres on one. Paint looks great, has had some oil leaks over the years according to the MOT history but all clean now.

It’s £555 VED, same as my XC90 and at £5k I’ll leave some spares £ to check that the belt and pumps can get replaced. Collect Saturday hopefully, may even ask for the free delivery. I’m going to use their 15 month warranty once I’ve read the small print. Wish me luck

I won’t be going to work again until august so I’ll look forward to stretching her legs for a Fun drive. I’ll look to work from home and alternate between this and other cars for the commute so I plan to keep miles low and keep her for several years. I can’t help but feel guilty buying this at a time when some people are in pretty bad place with covid fall out and jobs etc but next time it could be me so let’s spend some money now and enjoy it.

Some questions come to mind: it’s an older 2006 model yet has the newer gear shift. The 2006 one I looked at had the old gear shift.... is this a late 2006 do you think?

It has a M steering wheel. Was this an option

What colour is it!!?
Thank you to everyone that as commented and shown interest! I’ll post some photos when I get it!

Looks decent mate. That Stratus Grey is my second choice cool

It’s got the N52’s engine which is the better of the two so that’s a bonus. It doesn’t have power fold mirrors though, there is only one little square button which is the left/right mirror adjuster, ones with power fold have a second button next to it. MOT history looks decent too, hope it all goes to plan and look forward to your updates.

Probably best to start a fresh thread when you get it as this has become more of a buyers guide laugh

Thanks shame about the mirrors. Description on their site says it does... must be a typical copy and paste that some dealers do. Not a deal breaker but I better have a good look round to check it’s got everything else they claim it has!

Anyone know a good Indy BMW in Bristol!?

Missed your questions ...

It’s a late 2006 and pre facelift. So earlier N52’s engine (better) and earlier gearbox. That shifter is an eBay special available to replicate the LCI shifter. A standard pre shift knob should be easy to find and just clips on.

It has an M sport steering wheel as the car is a sport. That means it comes with anthracite roof lining, style 218 wheels (nice) , shadowline window trims rather than chrome, and more supportive seats with extendable thigh supports

Wow. Thank you very much. Let’s hope that the gear stick doesn’t come off in my hand then!

I don’t like the fact it’s got the smokers package..... probably explains all those Christmas trees on the rear view mirror.

I looked through and thought seemed very good value for a lovely car then looked at the mileage.

Must have had the valve stem seals done (at least once) during its lifetime I'd have thought?

Good spot. Would be interesting to know the history on it from the latest owner, why he spent so much etc on it - sentimental value?

I was surprised it had had four owners, I thought possibly one owner who couldn't bear to part with it.

That interior is simply stunning now in my eyes!

That 650 has been around for a while now, I think no matter the money spent I just can’t look past the moon mileage . Granted a fair amount of things would have been replaced by now, but anything that hasn’t is just waiting to raise its head.

They state the engine has been checked and anything required was replaced... but to what extent ? Valve guides , piston and rings , bores checked for oval wear .... or just a compression check and all is well ?

Well I have it.... Absolutely stunning condition. Drove 60 miles home. Only concern is that braking from 65-70 hard makes the steering wheel vibrate a little bit. Assuming it’s just brakes or tyres so I’ll get that sorted and looked at. Drives really well. Engine sounds lovely and so far so good. So unless it dumps oil and coolant all over itself then I’m very happy. Everything works

I simply don’t understand how a 3 litre straight 6 in this condition is worth less than £5k! I guess it’s the running costs and potential for an immediate 4 figure bill if something breaks
