the warranty is not what it used to be, mainly because bmw dealers are not what they should be. Someone will come along shortly and praise the warranty but qualify that you need a "strong relationship" with the local dealer etc. Just like you need to be on personal terms with your local john lewis to get them to fix that sofa right. lol.
We have no relationship whatsoever with our local dealer and had 2 warranty claims no issue, one extended to being a 5 figure sum. And a 100% goodwill replacement of a steering rack even though the car was out of warranty.

Sounds like just one particularly bad dealership, which I have heard before...

Like anything there are good experiences and bad experiences. Also differing expectations. Two different dealers btw.

Here is abit of an update, I had the new gearbox fitted and car returned. It no longer shudders when coming to a stop and trying to run away and gear changes are way more silky smooth. Dealership did as much as they could for me, only charged me 4 hours labour, didn't charge me for fluid etc its the BMW UK that's the large chunk of the cost. I have written a complaint to BMW UK customer services asking them to at least supply all the parts at 100 discount.
Worth asking.

6 year old vehicle, presumably 3 years out of warranty, I’m still surprised you got 70% out of them smile

Are you the original owner ?

Don't worry.

Forum etiquette is not about getting your English right, it is more about not coming across as a by trying to correct people's grammar when they are trying to help others on here.

Most people on here don't care how someone spells or how good their grammar is, what is most important is how well they contribute and try and help others.

FBMWSH is everything - remember the guy a few months back with the terminal engine failure/ Sytners did the job and BMW covered just about all of it on a 2013(?) car. Use the dealer for servicing and BMW will normally look after you.

Not really sure what you do on this forum other than tell everyone the car they have bought is a ticking time bomb.

You are one of those people that just come across as a smarmy who really has nothing better to do than to pick holes with anything and everything other people say without actually saying anything positive at all.

I tried to reply in as polite a way as I could, but even then you can't help yourself.

Oh well, if it makes you happy. Although I guess the reality is actually the very opposite.

Edit: What is it you do? You seem to get very defensive about BMW warranty work. Do you work for them?

No reason.

Just trying to work out why you keeping giving me sarcastic replies, little snipes?

Thought maybe I had upset you because you work for BMW.

Maybe I have upset you because of something else?

Maybe you do it to everyone, but I guess I wouldn't pay much attention.

Oh well, never mind.
