For those whose cars have started to go back, what sort of charges are you seeing for damage. I’ve got one scuffed alloy and a bad stone chip.

VWFS were quite good on that respect. Saying one learned wheel was fair but the second you paid for but only £30.

I'll let you know as soon as they've done my return doc next week!
My car had nothing at all on the bodywork, just a single wheel scuff that was (from memory as i didnt measure it!) under the 50mm allowed....

Well that's nearly it for my M135i, all set to go back 5 months early on the 4th Jan.

My eldest is getting a new car so we are buying his 10yr old Picanto and I bought a Fiesta ST Edition earlier in the year so no need for the BMW as well for myself and the wife.
Also the front brake pad light is a ticking time bomb so rather not have to shell out for a new set and fitting just before it goes back.

It's been a great car, semi interested in getting another later in the year if i get bored of the ST although prices are silly if not buying with cash (PCP via TRL is circa £650 when you factor in tax, tyres, insurance....I can get an i4 M50 for the same money via sal sac work scheme, insurance, tyres etc included!).
AT has M135i circa 6 months old with at least Pro pack at sub £35k so looks like hte best bet although with the F70 due mid year prices might take a hit or maybe we'll have some good deals on the F70...............
Did AC charge the remaining term @ 50%? Had to do breaks (£300) now it's needing tyres and I'm over mileage so would be open to an early termination.
Did you get your pads changed via a bmw service centre or an independent? My car should go back in July but considering handing it back early…tyres are currently “ok” but last time I had it serviced the guys said pads soon…although I have only done 13,000 miles which makes me suspicious
Yeah, got shafted at a service centre. Now my back ones are flagging they need done. Really tempted to go to an independent quoted £346 for the rears via AC BMW

How did the return go?
Was it a standard fair wear and tear inspection on collection?

No issues really.
Car was collected and driven to a local ish AC depot, so no inspection until later which I was a little dubious about but nothing has been reported so I’ve just had to pay the few outstanding months at 50%.

Was expecting this payment via DD but it never went out (generated too late near the DD date) so I’ve paid it to the supplied AC account, just waiting for confirmation from their end it’s there in the account.

Thanks. Sounds reassuringly smooth. I do prefer to have it inspected on collection for peace of mind. I guess loads of photos as evidence will have to when mine finally goes back…still no replacement lined up!

Yes I did a couple of extensive videos in case something came back as there was barely a stone chip on it!

Btw they’ve now come back and said the monies in the account and it’s all done and dusted so it was easy in the end.

Now for a new M2, 240i xdrive or M2 Comp……

Good news on it all being closed! Always a relief even when you know the car has been kept in good condition…you never know.

Nice options, I’m sure you will be happy with any of them. I’m stuck between going down the ownership route on something 2nd hand, or opting in to the work ss scheme via tusker and jumping on something that comes in stock.

Has anyone asked for a quote to extend their lease deal on the 128ti or 135i?

What about a purchase price?

I’ve been told that I could extend if I lease another car off AC to bridge any gap between a new car coming and my lease ending.

Ah well, at least it is good to know that option isn't available. I'm really struggling to find a decent lease deal. I've got about 4 months to go.

Apologies if this is the wrong thread, however the wife and I have been looking for a new runaround and we're looking at the M135i to sit next to my old E82 and do the grown up stuff.

We'll have a budget of up to about 27k so are looking at early models, preferably in Misano Blue with the following extras:

Park Assist (for the wife)
HUD
HK
Preferably alacantra rather than leather

I'm just trying to get my head round the option packs - I assume for the above we need the Tech Pack and the Plus Pack?

Is the electric tailgate standard or is that on another I need to look out for?

And how are they on fuel? I'm guessing it will be slightly worse than our 15 year old Civic (28 in town, 40+ on a run) but how much worse?

Edit// also really keen to have Android Auto - was this on all models (assuming no component shortages)? And is it wireless?

I’ll answer what I can based on my 128 experience.

Economy is great. On a long run I can see 50mpg if I stay on the right side of the speed limit.

Android Auto and Apple car play work well and is wireless.

That's brilliant thank you - I haven't completely discounted the 128 but the secondhand prices do seem a little punchy compared to the 135.

It’s less than 3 months now until my 128ti is to be returned to Arnold Clark.

I came to this car very much because of ‘the deal’, they really were a bargain. I’ve never been a BMW fanboy and was about to order a Corolla from Arnold Clark but dithered, that deal was pulled and these 1-series deals appeared almost immediately after. I’m sure the Corolla would have fulfilled it’s purpose, but I’m definitely happy I got the 128ti.

The problem I’m now having, as I’m sure many are, is what on earth to replace it with? My requirements haven’t really changed - we have a now 16 year old Suzuki Swift that we’ve had from 2 years old. That’s the runabout, and after a recent hefty bill to get through it’s MOT (all wear and tear stuff that finally caught up!), it’ll really need to do another couple of years. I also have a 2013 Swift Sport that I’ve modified quite extensively since 2016. But I’m almost 53 now with a bit of wear and tear myself and the Swift Sport isn’t giving me the same pleasure of remembering a misspent youth that it once did. I think another year or two will see both the Swifts moved on for something like a Suzuki Vitara/S-Cross, or, God forbid, maybe an EV such as a Jeep Avenger. That sort of thing would work great as a work car/runabout/tip car for us.

But replacing the 128ti isn’t proving such an easy choice for me. The car has really, really gotten under my skin with it’s overall abilities. It mostly gets used for long trips to Scotland and back and it’s blend of comfort, economy, ‘nice place to sit’ factor and a good turn of pace if needed are going to be difficult to match. Unless I can bring myself to stomach the cost of buying a 128ti, and right now that’s looking like my favoured choice. I’ll have to try and see where ‘my’ car turns up for sale as I’m struggling to find one with my favoured heated steering wheel and front lumbar seats (those aches and pains again 😂). The Misano Blue also looks to have been a rare choice.

Anyway, ramble over and just wondering what others are doing and if I’m the only one to have been ‘sold’ on a 128ti?

57k miles in mine in just under 3 years. I’m replacing it with an Octavia vRS.
