Be sure to post pics! I sure will!

Off topic. Anyone know if i can powder coat lease alloys. Had no response from AC (David).

Internet search gives conflicting answers
Probably but be prepared to pay for new alloys or refurb when handing back……or they may not spot it if lucky?

Oh and was there someone with a current lease via ALD on here?
Anyway for the 2 months i have left on the Cupra they are not charging me anything to send it back early (not including any damage charges post inspection), my mileage is under the pro rata.

Insurance for two cars might be a challenge.
It’s ok as I sold my M2 last June so we’ve been down to one car, so need to use my own NCB on the M135i, Mrs has her own policy on the Cupra currently. In 12 months we’ll swap her policy to the M135i for a year.
Had to mess about myself cancelling my Mrs policy and insuring her car in my name (using my work NCB as not all insurers accept this) and then getting her to insure the M135i with me named. We're basically sharing cars 50/50 so it doesn't really matter as far as I can tell.

Ended up paying £375 for the year, cheapest using work NCB was £600!

Is everyone trusting the dealer with the “prep” clean. One of my local BMW dealers has an electronic car wash. Hope they don’t put it through that ghastly thing at Glasgow.

Yea can be a pain but as we are down to one car it’s easy.
Aviva are coming out £365 and Chris Knott are £370 but have a couple of extras I’d pay more for on Aviva plus I’ve used CK for a number of years and quotes have been excellent and they answer the phone quickly!
Other quotes via comparison sites or places like Direct Line are well over £400.

Wife is also with CK currently.

What's the general opinion on running the cars in?

Are we bothering with them being leases? I've read MPG improves after a few miles.

Phew cheers for that. Had previous car delivered without prep. Was abit of a ballache to clean glue residue from stickers left on the car.

I read somewhere these new cars don’t need running in. I will probably take it easy for 200 miles odd. But when the car comes it’s hard not to floor it knowing you have 300 horses under the hood!

Just take it easy for a few hundred miles to bed in the new components, no oil change required at 1200 miles like M cars (they use a different oil from the factory hence needing the extra 1200 miles service).

Do Modern M cars still use running in oil? My 2001 Impreza had that and you were limited to 3000rpm (I think) for the first 1500 miles.

What are peoples thoughts on using premium fuels? Will it make any difference?

Can't say I've noticed any performance gains with premium. I do feel I get slightly more range tho.

I'm old school .

Ran my M135 in for 2000 miles . Nothing over 70 mph, Yes.... a bit drastic but it might be a keeper, so I gave it some respect. jester

I'm gonna treat the car as if it were my own. Going to break it in and avoid WOT for the first 1,300 miles and gentle on brakes for first 300.

I’m just going to make sure it has at least 10 miles on the clock before I test launch control.

Haha, but I think it has to be run in before you can activate launch control

I wouldn’t of thought so, my M2 had launch control activated when it went in for its 1200 mile service but this doesn’t go in for that service……
