What have you done to your BMW today?

I found some quite roads and really stretched it's legs, felt great and mandated to avoid the rain. I keep forgetting how hard it punches at 6krpm and above, I really need to get out in it more I think.
I also managed to replace the broken catch it the armrest too, so it now latches nicely and having rubbed off the flaking rubberised paint, I think it looks loads better too:

Washed last weeks collection of dead insects off my 140i after our trip to Wales. He wheels were absolutely hanging after a few hundred miles of hard driving and took some serious cleaning.
Started refurbishing the air vents on my other half’s 125i. The slats have gone white and manky.
So I’ve removed and dismantled them and am in the process of painting them satin black. It really let the interior down.

Remember I mentioned someone at work reversed into the NS front wing of my 6 Series. Finally had an opportunity to have a good luck/clean and polish to assess the damage.
Luckily, no denting of the wing (I think they may be composite rather than metal), however some paint damage and scuffing
Cleaned up as much as possible and left with this:
Gave it a good go over with Megiuiar's Scratch X and this is the best I can get. Obviously there's the area of paint damage and the remaining scuffs.
Is that area of paint damage amenable to a 'Smart Repair'? I'm hoping the scuffs could buff out with a proper machine polish.
How much would you estimate it'd cost to put right? The chap who did the damage is willing to pay and would prefer to avoid insurance (me too given the relatively minor extent of the damage).
My Saturdays are sparse because of covid vaccination clinics, so the minimum fuss and disruption the better.
What do you guys reckon?

A smart repair will get rid of that. It’ll obviously not be as good as a proper trip to a body shop.Luckily, no denting of the wing (I think they may be composite rather than metal), however some paint damage and scuffing

I paid £150 for a rear bumper scuff on her old 116 to be sorted. Once polished it looked pretty spot on.
Finished the air vents today (not got pictures of the centre ones).
From this
To this
laptop space bar not working
I cleaned all of the other crap out too, years of dust and grime. Nice.
Just need to brave the downpour and wind to refit them....

I think fingers crossed, sorted the intermittent airbag warning light on the E63 (code 93C1).
The connection under the seat was pretty dirty/corroded. Plenty of electrical cleaner sprayed and it looks cleaner. Here's hoping.
Replaced the oil cooler gasket on the E91 ( with Genuine OEM BMW item).
Cunningly placed towel avoided the belt underneath getting covered in oil.
Old gasket not in the best of shape.
When removing the airbox, noticed a bit of damage at the bottom. Not sure whether that would affect the running of the car?
Finally, RE-listed the E36 328i Touring on eBay (ad live at 19:30) after a non paying time waster last November.

I took it to a couple of bodyshops last week, including one specialising in Smart Repair. Apparently owing to the location, a Smart Repair would be difficult and they recommended just spraying the whole wing (£300+VAT!)I paid £150 for a rear bumper scuff on her old 116 to be sorted. Ordered a new knob!
Mines badly worn through over use.
Apparently the original one just pops off if you grip it firmly
Given they are autos, I don't know how they get so much wear! I think maybe rings scratch them.Mines badly worn through over use.

I want to replace the scratched silver one on my 630i for a the dark wooden finish to match the centre console

Yes its not like you sit with your hand on them when driving but they do all seem to wear.I want to replace the scratched silver one on my 630i for a the dark wooden finish to match the centre console
This one seems to be worn quite badly to the front, so just going to replace it.
Might be tricky to get a dark wooden finish to match the original?

Looks identical to my old 328i Touring. Good luck with sale.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224455879255
Manual E36 328i touring?! What a delight. I need to scratch the E36 itch, it's been just too long.
I also need to the the oil cooler gasket on my E91 330i too. When I come to change the oil I'll order the seals up and sort it. it's more of a weep for now on my car. The OFHG was done a few years ago, but I might also do it again, too.

Afraid the eBay one will have under body rust like the Titanic. Re oil cooler gasket, change both.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224455879255

Swapped convertibles in/ out of storage, had to buy a new battery as the old one - less than a year old and from BMW - was having none of it, either with the power pack or after charging with jump leads for a bit. I've ordered a mains charger / tester to see if it's actually dead in which case BMW can have it back. I was never convinced it was the right one even after they matched the car's reg. Halfords to the rescue.
I've only got a few weeks to sort it out for MOT time, so was very happy that I managed to "fix" the previously one-sided headlight washer spray by the complicated approach of unplugging the power to the pump and plugging it back in again. I now have a nice video of washer fluid squirting onto both headlights, so that's good. Just the seats to sort out now, interesting to see what I assume is the same problem being fixed up there ^

Needs some TLC.
Was a very useful car. King size mattress - no problem.
(Was on genuine Alpina Softlines at the time)

I had a 328i manual touring which was lpg converted about 11 or 12 years ago. That was the same or similar blue too! Good car, can’t remember why I sold it and what replaced it now. I did the m52b25 inlet manifold conversion on it, made quite a noticeable difference iirc.
GLWTS.
Used to have an E36 325i (rust killed it). I actually sold the M50 manifold separately for more than scrap value of the car itself!GLWTS.

Nice for sale classified - it's good to see an advert with what I would consider a normal amount of information. Amazing how poor some are.The connection under the seat was pretty dirty/corroded. Plenty of electrical cleaner sprayed and it looks cleaner. Here's hoping.

Not sure if you're a keen breaker, the engine and gearbox combo surely seems worth keeping?
