Fitted the refurbed shadow chromed wheels on the N/S and torqued the lug nuts to spec.

Now ready for a visit to BMR Performance tomorrow morning for new thrust arms, brake fluid service and hunter alignment, followed by the M5 on Friday for a VANOS rebuild, service and MOT, wish me luck.

It's not going to be a cheap couple of days for me.
That looks great. The slightly darker wheels really work on titanium silver.

Sounds like an expensive few days coming up!

It's worth it wink

Looks like you need to get a few cable ties across that crack in the bumper before it gets worse... What happened?

Indeed, long story short, lent the car to my younger brother for a week, and he decided to go off-roading in it to to avoid some wildlife in the road, resulting in destroying both pork chops, and cracking the bumper in multiple places.

Also as the car previous to my ownership was London based, the bumpers have a number of battle scars that I've not been to bothered about repairing/patching.

Though still rather surprised that the temp repair I did back in March using sugru is still holding the rest of the bumper together.

As you say, a couple of cable ties should sort out the other side of the bumper, along with the drill holes I added to stop the cracks growing any bigger.

Bloody hell; that's a real mess frown

Not sure if that'd be fully repairable or just better off replacing it...

Ref the pork chops; I bought & fitted these a few weeks back when I had the front bumper off to refit the new OEM headlight washer lines and TBH they fit really well:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324709493861

The rubber sections is stiff, so used sopme 3M double sided tape to hold them in place until they soften up, other than that, fitment is very good indeed and worth buying...

As 'OEM Plus' as I am; I'm not paying c£500 for the OEM ones, which are brittle from the word go!

Afraid it is, I just divert my gaze to the factory fresh M5's front end if I think I want it repairing.

Have been watching used M sport bumpers, but they start around £300 and tend to need repairs or painting, and when you add in the pork chops and possible undertray, things start getting expensive. I'll just have to hope someone else bashes it off in a car park so it turns into an insurance repair and someone else's expense idea

As it's a daily driver, I just keep putting it off until it starts to flap in the wind laugh

Haha that's fair enough... Drill holes at the end of the cracks and criss-cross cable ties; will look all Mad Max then biggrin

FYI last time I asked Cotswolds for the price for a new front bumper; it was £500! That's why Id never fit a used one as it'd cost you more to get it fixed, primed & painted!

M Style do rep Sport bumpers. I bought an E46 one which fitted well. (Then sold the car to a friend who wrote it off!)

The E39 ones aren't that good from what's been said about them.

Not the best fit and they're too short where they meet the wings

Dropped the weekender off, and collected the daily, not a painful as expected, though I'm sure the M5 will try and make up for that

Also took the M5 the long way round to give it a good run, as still SORN'd and enroute to an MOT

Friday afternoon drive as the 330 had been in the garage following the roof clean earlier this week and I had not had the opportunity to take the car out for a couple of weeks.

In this warm weather the re-gassed air-con was a blessing.

Good work with the badges Sam; mine need doing but they're only slightly iffy... Ignoring them for now

Today I fitted my new wheel centre caps which replaced the miserable looking ones it came with…

I also lifted off the door trim because the driver side was not illuminating Orange like the passenger side. Sure enough it had been removed before and the power cable was snapped. Any idea where I can get a new one that comes with the full cable and not just the trim please?

Now, why was the the driver side not working? Well I have reason to believe this side or part of this side had been re sprayed. Look at the sticker that is supposed to show the pressure, paint code etc Not happy that I didn’t notice this when I checked her over before buying and not happy the garage didn’t say anything. Nothing reported on carvertical report though

Did you get OEM centre caps? I don’t think they should be recessed from the rim surface. I only mention it because I bought supposedly OEM centre caps that turned out to be fake - spotted it because the bona fide (but totally wrecked) caps i replaced sat flush to the rim surface, and the replacements were sunken by about 2mm.

These were eBay specials…. I’ve pushed them into place though firmly so that maybe why they have sunk a few mm…..
