Nice for sale classified - it's good to see an advert with what I would consider a normal amount of information. Amazing how poor some are.

Not sure if you're a keen breaker, the engine and gearbox combo surely seems worth keeping?
No time, patience or inclination tbh. Got 4 BMWs on the go at the mo, plus the E46 330Ci my dad is now looking after.

Not today, but yesterday I got home from a few fabulous days in Wales with some fellow car fanatics.

Had an oil service and a new oil filter gasket fitted on my 330i by my BMW Indy today, and got an MOT with no advisories for my Z4MC this afternoon. smile

Today I used the 630i as a bed. (Long story involving baby g3org3y not sleeping, driving around at 1:30am to settle him, McDonald's at 3:30am and sleeping in the car until 5:15am rather than risk waking him).

Collected my 140i from Sytner after they fitted a new black box to solve the rattling exhaust valve that sounded horrendous on start up. Apparently they can be fixed but I thought I’d leave it to them as it’s under warranty.

Good news is its cut and there’s a big old clamp on that that means changing it for more noise is now easier...

Has a new shape 1 series for a few days, interior quality is a big step up but I hated the new safety features that needed turning off every time you started the car (lane assist being the main culprit), the speed flashed up if you crept over the limit yet driving through town it was saying this...

Electronic parking brakes are crap, even by BMW’s standards the manual gearbox was horrible and the steering was even more lifeless than mine. I was very, very happy to get back into my car!

That sounds like hard work. eek

I knew there was a reason why I was never destined to be a parent! I didn't meet Mrs Tidy until she was in her late 40s.

Still you got a Maccy D's, so not all bad. laugh

Every cloud!

It has been a while since I needed to drive him around to get him to sleep. Was quite a common occurrence when he was younger. In those days, he was in a baby car seat, so you'd just take the whole seat out carefully and bring it/him into the house without waking him. Now he's in the infant seat, you'd have to unstrap him and pick him up, get him into the house and into his cot without waking. I didn't fancy that challenge at 3:45am so sleeping in the car was the best option!

Yes..the journey! hehe

Re the M3 - not been used at all for 3 years?

In other BMW related news, M539 Restorations has a new E21 Project. cool

Come to the conclusion that the 140i might go...

On the strength of sone of the WBAC valuations, I thought I’d take a look and they’ll give me more than I owe on the car, so it feels like a good time. My car usage continues to drop so it seems daft having something so expensive / capable not moving, sometimes for a few days.

Whilst I like it a lot, I’m not sure I love it. Mucking about in my other half’s 125i has made me look at it in a very different light and I’ve realised that I’d be just as happy in something older / cheaper. I’ll most likely end up with another BMW because what I buy jeers at least six cylinders.

And here's me thinking of chopping in the Z4 with a view to E93 M3 or F83 M4...and yet I do hear such great things about the M2...

No AUC’s in budget. Had a look last night and nationwide, there are four old M4’s (14 plates) hence thinking I’ll get shot of mine whilst it’s worth decent money and run something cheaper for a while, although I’m going off piste slightly (650’s, B7 RS4’s.....this might not end well).

You just never hear a bad word said about the M2 for sure. The M2 is arguably the best modern BMW that you can buy I reckon. I love my M4 but the majority seem to prefer the M2 overall though. driving

Yes, seems to be a return to form for BMW. However, I want a convertible (because I'm a tart), so it's either M3 or M4.

Nothing wrong with a convertible for me. thumbup

I had a test drive in a M4 convertible back in 2016 and I really enjoyed driving it roof down for sure. My brother in law also has a E93 convertible and I've had a few goes in that and the V8 sounds absolutely lovely with the roof down. cloud9

Absolutely. I love a cab. I thought I’d feel like a bit of a knob driving with the roof down but I couldn’t care less! I love tooling about in my other half’s 125i.

E93 M3’s are cheap, a shed load cheaper than either the coupe or saloon.

Sounds to me like you need to persuade the OH her 125i needs a slippy diff and a supercharger smile
