What have you done to your BMW today?
Discussion
Busy day on both cars today….
Clean and oil change on the 125i.
Then it was the brake fluid on my car.
Whilst the wheels were off, I deep cleaned the inner faces of the wheels. The rears in particular had picked up loads of contamination.
Just waiting for sone better weather to give them both a decent post winter detail.

That’s one of the boxes that plug in isn’t it? Does it have the four sliding buttons labelled A B C D? Are they all in the right place? If it doesn’t work, any chance of sending it back? The Andream ones are a doddle to install plus the resolution of the replacement screen is loads better.

Well, today I went out with my spray bottle of soapy water to see what was going on with the apparent slow puncture that popped up on my last Scotland trip on the 640d's nsr and found two massive cracks in the barrel of the alloy. I guess that'll be it. Didn't bother with the soapy water. Bloody Scottish roads.
To be fair, I don't know whether there could have been a slow puncture first that led to the cracks, seems a bit odd that a rear should go first. It started raining, so I haven't checked any of the other wheels, but they were all holding air fine when the pressure alert went off.
Gutted, because a. money and b. I really liked those wheels. There's no singles for sale, and the cheapest full set looks to be well over 2 grand. I know I could probably get it welded, but I have a policy of not buying welded wheels generally, and I'm not about to have a set on my long motorway journey car. And I could ideally do with it being usable on Wednesday.
Currently looking at a set I quite like, which I could get before Weds. They've got ditchfinders but I can live with them for one trip, then I'll get the old tyres swapped over and replace the run-flat that ran flat. Ugh.
No possibility of getting them repaired? Most alloy wheels could likely be fixed? Or are you also worried about structural integrity? Yeah, it's certainly crossed my mind. One of the cracks is nearly a third of the way across the barrel. How much longer would it need to be before you're upside down at 90 mph? If it stays dry I'll have a look at the other three today. I can probably persuade myself this was just a freak thing if they're all ok. They're proper BMW wheels but are lightweight forged ones. I know they're supposed to be really strong, but possibly they're just too brittle for our roads. I've found some singles on US ebay so am currently on freight forwarder and customs tariff calculators. Might not actually be that bad, although it's a bloody annoying way of needing to spend money.
Short term I'll either use the Merc, which will cost me about 50 quid a week extra in fuel, or order a different set, which I can always sell on later. This is one of those times when I'm really grateful for having more than one car.

Got annoyed with the lack of hands free in my e91. It shiuld ah e the bluetooth module as the telephone fu crion is on the CIC and brings up 4 previous phones that hve been connected.
I can’t delete these phones for some reason. I then find a mObridge adapter and can connect to that. I guess the bluetooth module is broken and this installed instead of doing it properly.
Now onto the questions.
What module do I need to get to make it work like factory again.
Anyone have the mObridge adapter?

I collected a great big fk off chip in my windscreen courtesy of a stone that a delivery van flicked up as the drive passed.
Will keep an eye on it, but it’ll crack soon enough I reckon.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you bud. Will keep an eye on it, but it’ll crack soon enough I reckon.
Even a simple job of having your windscreen changed can become a nightmare annoyingly(I know from experience).
