Took a deposit on the 125i yesterday.

It took longer to sell than I thought it would. Had the usual low ball offers, offers for swaps etc. A few chaps were supposed to see it tomorrow but one of them recognised the number plate from my thread and decided he wanted it.

I’m going to be sad to see it go.

Should be collecting the replacement tomorrow night and then I’ll get stuck into that car!
Nice one Sam. I think that it is still a fairly niche car so it has still sold in good time I reckon. I hope the new owner looks after it as well as you have.

I'm looking forward to following your adventures with your incoming motor as well. thumbup

Good going Sam; feels like it sold pretty fast TBH. A few months is long; not a few weeks IMO

However it's bang on the right time for selling a vert!

Looking forward to the E91 330i project biggrin

I would inspect those Bilstein dampers regularly after about 3 years. They love to corrode much quicker than you'd expect.
Any suspension upgrades i've done in the recent past i've sprayed them fully with ACF-50 anti corrosion spray and used coilover socks.

Something my pal at Grinspeed recommends to all that he sells their coilovers too etc

Makes a lot of sense really and not exactly a time consuming job to do

Forward thought n all that

Yes, when you're talking £1,000 to £2,000 or more for a suspension then its a small amount of money and effort to help protect them.

Replaced the original Continental water pump and the thermostat on my 2011 F11 535i. After nearly 12 years and 95,000 miles it was right in the danger zone. Went for a full metal housing Pierburg pump.

Also had to redo the oil filter housing gaskets as the Viton ones I bought and fitted last year were leaking as badly as the original shot ones. Used genuine BMW this time so fingers crossed that's it. Replaced the nearly new auxiliary belt as it was fouled by leaking oil/coolant.

Five hours all in working with a mechanic friend. Didn't take any pictures other than the garbage!

Cheers Lee.

I think the new owner is a PHer because he recognised the number plate from my readers car thread.

It felt painful! Dealing with people is horrible…I had loads of low ball offers, offers for swaps etc. And a week with no nibbles at at all and then three at once.

The cars I’ve sold previously were snapped up super quick; my 330 was advertised on a Friday and sold on Saturday and the 116i was similar. I don’t even really have to try to sell the 130i either. Maybe I’d been luck before.

I'd say so pal.... Depends on the car too I reckon and their 'fan following' etc...

All my E39s sold easily; the touring had sold to the new owner more or less the day I'd advertised it. My previous F01 took a few weeks and was painless. The E39 V8 Japanese import dragged the most TBH

But probably time of year and engine size (as well as a strong asking price etc)

Picked up my wife’s new mummy wagon; a manual E91 330i in Le Mans Blue with Dakota lemon leather.

It’s a bit of a 12 footer at the moment but I’m confident that it’ll look loss better with a good polish and wax.

Congrats. Best colour combo obvs. wink

We have the same rubber mats as well. biggrin (Get yourself the factory rubber boot liner if you can)

Used ours for the first proper test of the Thule bike rack. Devised a cunning system with a numberplate holder and ratchet straps to display the numberplate. When looking from behind, brake lights and indicators still pretty visible tbh so I'm happy with this set up.

Also went to the garden centre. #middleagedlife

Fingers crossed it's a simple fix.

I remember when we bought ours, the A/C wasn't especially cold. Regas sorted it for 48hrs. Turned out there was an A/C pipe leak round the back somewhere that cost a decent amount to fix. Wife was particularly annoyed at the time as she was 7 months pregnant and it was an especially hot summer. Once it was sorted, she was delighted and spent her lunch breaks just driving around to keep cool (as her office otherwise was a sauna despite 3x fans pointed at her).
