Had some posh tyres fitted for the first time in my life and done a stud conversion.
Not got round to washing it yet though.
Lovely. Not got round to washing it yet though.
I'm a big fan and I have those on the 370Z. I also have Pilot Super Sport on the M4...I'm a Michelin fanboy it seems!
They are great tyres I reckon. I swapped the Michelin Primacy 3(they are crap for a Michelin tyre for some reason though) that were on my Cooper S to Michelin PS4 and they completely transformed it for me.
They're so much better, for me, in 17" sizes I'm running that they were in 18s I had on some previous Style 37s... That extra bit on the sidewall makes a lot of difference!

I've just bought a 2005 E46 320D Sport Touring that was a MOT failure. Picked it up rather cheap too as the guy who owned it lived in an area that as from November will be in the extended ULEZ zone in London so he just wanted rid of it.
It's a 2005, 2 previous owner car with 78,000 miles on it.
Front and rear disks and pads done, full service and fault codes cleared and went through the MOT with an advisory for front drop links and front lower control arms.
Drop links now replaced and I'm waiting for Hermes to get their backside in gear and deliver the lower control arms I ordered over a week ago
Next job is to replace the rear springs as interestingly the garage that failed the MOT and the subsequent garage that passed the MOT failed to notice the broken rear off side coil spring. I only noticed it when I replaced the disks and pads. Again waiting for the springs to arrive.
Cracking car and I've had a few E46s in the past. Bought this as I needed a practical run around as my other car is you could say, a little impractical

Koch Chemie APC to give the areas that needed a scrub, a scrub. Towel dried and then I use Autoglym Rubber & Vinyl care to treat the plastics and other bits etc; I've used 303 Aerospace protectant, but found it doesn't last well at all and prefer the AG stuffThe engine bay has been properly degreased and washed since I've owned it; so this was just a general tidy up etc
Fixed an annoying click coming from my E39 front door when opening and closing.
The noise was coming from the kick strap, where it joins onto the body. I thought it was probably going to be worn and need replacement, but thought I'd better examine it first. Turns out it was just the pin that had worked loose and all it needed was a couple of light taps with a hammer to knock it back into place. Nice and easy (for a change).

Took the drivers side door mirror off today. The base plate is badly corroded. Its aluminium so has the whole white powderiness going on under the paint and the paint is flaking off.
Took around 40 mins to get it off. Quite fiddly and needed to be careful not to bend any trim or break any clips.
Corrosion is particularly bad on it and has even spread to the back of the backplate entirely. Not sure its recoverable (or recoverable to an acceptable standard) however i've an electric mouse sander and have paint bought already for it so will give it a go.
Will post before and after pics when complete.

You’ve got nowt to loose having a crack at it yourself first other than a few quid for paint and a bit of time. Even a less than perfect job will look better than he corrosion.Took around 40 mins to get it off. Quite fiddly and needed to be careful not to bend any trim or break any clips.

Checked the tyre pressures for the first time since the wheel refurb. Both fronts sitting happily at 34 PSI, exactly where they were when the car was dropped off 10 days ago. Fairly safe to say that's been fixed.
Also booked it in at BMW to have the Heater Blower recall done. Do I assume they are going to take the dash apart from this? I ask because the 3M Pad I used to attach my BT Receiver to the trim failed, so I fixed it with Gorilla Glue, and I'd rather they didn't snap it off, considering the receiver is NLA from Sony.

What part of it is it that’s being replaced? If it’s the motor itself then I’d say it’ll be a dash out job…Also booked it in at BMW to have the Heater Blower recall done. Paid the VED on the 6 Series (£585) and Z4 (£340).
Another tip run with the E91.
Did the VED payment process include lube as well? Another tip run with the E91.

Similar here. Definitely the same on the six, and i think the Z4 is there or there abouts also.
Mine were a month apart.
IIRC the X5 is ~£585 too. Speaking of which, Specialist called today to say the X5 is done so will collect tomorrow.Mine were a month apart.

I think the mirror base corrosion is considered a not uncommon issue. A couple I looked at before I bought mine suffered with it.Took around 40 mins to get it off. Quite fiddly and needed to be careful not to bend any trim or break any clips.
