Hello All,

At the infamous place, thought might as well give a time update on here. Waiting for the salesperson...

Met by sales person 35 mins after appointment time
Spent 30 mins with me
Had a good look around the car and a short drive

And they actually had the car you went to look at?!
They'll give you a hard sell on warranty and other stuff; be prepared for that. Their warranties might give you reassurance, but the horror stories of them paying out are all over the web. You might be better arranging your own warranty.

Car had a few stone chips and some scuffing under the front bumper and some small marks on the leather interior etc
All four tyres were Bridgestone but I couldn't tell if they were run flats. The Rims looked okay.
Salesman was not pushy at all, showed off the features of the car. Did a short test drive the car felt good, (having never driven one before )
Asked for a cheeky discount, got turned down. Going to have a sleep on it ...

Sorry if it is not clear, I didn't put a deposit down as they weren't entertaining my cheekyness even after I pointed out all the bits that weren't 100% and that it was their reduction on the original price which was bringing them closer to the average and that didn't take the arrangement fee into account.

Lost that one frown
On to the next one!
This one says its black but it looks a beautiful blue...
I think it's too much money for a 17 plate.. frown
I can't remember which insurance comparison site it was but it marked that car at 22 as opposed to the 27.5 that is being asked for...

Still undecided

The plusses there are low mileage and comfort seats. It's an approved used car, so that commands a premium. I think (big caveat, I fully admit I get things wrong occasionally) these were £46k new. I only remember that as my friend got one as a company car, 530e M Sport in this colour/trim combination, and that's what the list price was.

Evening all,

Hope you are all well. Found this. While not perfect, I think I like it. What do you guys think? I am sure if I really feel I need the reversing camera, I could have it added. It doesn't mention full BMW service history so I suspect it does not have that. Do you think it looks tired please?

Thank you
FV

For expensive / modern cars, I'd always want AUC (i.e. BMW approved used) to be honest - sorry this doesn't help. However i'm now in my first ever car with a reversing camera and I couldn't live without one now tbh. I know a number of people say the same about options such as steering wheel heating (LOL) but the camera is really good and as I'm sure you know, as you steer the wheel it changes lines on the course you'll track on the image. Reversing when driving my wife's car (without one) is a real pain especially with larger cars nowadays - checking mirrors, turning head around to look fully backwards etc etc. Of course the highway code says look back when you're reversing but the cam makes it so easy. Just my thoughts on this anyway.

Thank you.
You are not the first to suggest sticking with AUC. However, AUC seems generally around 3k dearer than non AUC frown
My wife's car has a reversing camera and just like you I think I am pretty used to it smile

Our Golf has a reversing camera. I generally forget about it, but it's handy for parallel parking. I could live without it, but not without parking sensors.
Anyhow, I was put off V12 a couple of years ago... Google is full of horror stories, more so than the last place you looked.
Finally, the car... it's a SE. Heated steering wheel and split fold rear seats - nice, but I can't see any other options.
Are you not bothered about whether it's a M Sport or SE?

Thank you.
No, not fussed between SE and M sport, as long as the options are there... The pictures show, non Ali dash, heated steering wheel, lumbar support, electronic folding wing mirrors, adaptive suspension and split rear seats.

Someone earlier mentioned the comfort seats would be much better on a M than the SE but coming from a Caterham and a Yaris I recon they will all feel luxurious smile

One for sale on m3cutters. Can't vouch for the seller in this case, but most stuff on there is better than average condition.

That said, I'd only ever get the hybrid because of the company car tax savings. On a private purchase a 540i is a similar price but with a stonking 6 cylinder engine - plenty of time for this hybrid stuff after 2030.

Thank you. That is a lovely looking car smile
Unfortunately, it does not tick the heated steering wheel box frown
Additionally, I am hoping to get the e as opposed to the i since my kids would like an electric or at least a part electric car.

Unless I'm missing something it is a 530e. Can't say I've ever wanted a heated steering wheel; I had one on a hired Hyundai i20 a few years back, and thought "what's the point?". It's not for me, but I appreciate it may be for others.

Sorry, wasn't being clear. What I meant to say, wasn't that the car in the link is an i.
What I meant to say, was that I appreciate an i and an e might be similar in price, however, I am after an e
(With heated steering wheel tongue out)

Ps thank you for the mcutter link. Did not know about that site

Found another onebounce

69 plate, SE.

Its not got everythnig I would have liked but I am getting fed up of waiting to be honest grumpy

Apart from the stupid ali dash, its got everything from my ideally like list
Blue, ivory, reversing camera, split seats, heated wheel, comfort seats, lumbar support. And it is sitting on 17" so ride should be better and tyres cheaper smile

I am not a big fan of the ali dash nor the silver edeging around the window but I am willing to live with it.

And you will be happy to know it is AUC thumbup

So, what do you guys think please?

FV

For me cream leather and aluminium trim is a big no, however you can get them to change the trim to the other options, just a case of pulling it off and clipping the new one in, probable cost around £800 to change it, I did that on an M5 that had platinum merino leather and aluminium trim did the swap over myself.

Thank you.
It might sound silly but I hadn't considered that the trim could be changed out boxedin
