The decor trim is incredibly easy to swap out, and available for a lot less than £800 secondhand - then you sell yours the same way.
The chrome exterior trim is an SE trait. Your local window tinting place can wrap it in black for not-a-lot of £s.
I have Oyster leather in my F11, very easy to live with. The matching carpets are a curse though (for me) but luckily that's not an issue for you.
Get it bought!

This is news to me! Presumably applies to the 7 Series, too? I've seen a lovely SMB 730d X Drive but I'm put off by the light poplar trim, which (to my eyes) looks hideous and spoils an otherwise lovely interior.

Thank you.

Spoke to them, no discount, no delivery , no help on the VED frown. This means I would have to take a day off and get from north Kent to Preston via trains and drive back. Put me off a bit. Going to sleep on it.

It's a sellers market at the moment.

Unless you’re a company car driver or drive less than 20 miles a day, out of interest why do you want a 530e over a 530D?

Thank you,

Being a seller's market is what the sales person said too frown

I expect to do fewer than 4k miles a year paperbag . Majority of the driving will be around 16miles a week so am hoping to keep those all electric. And of course for the longer drives it'll be mostly petrol. The real reason for the e is the kids. They asked for the next car to be all electric or part electric and unfortunately the Tycan is completely out of reach.

I'll call them on Monday. It's going to take me 1/2 a day to get to them and the joy of joys of the M25 on the way home.

Why won't they deliver it?

Apparently, their delivery truck is broken meaning they would need to outsource the delivery and charge me for it.
He also said he would prefer not to do delivery as he could not guarantee the condition of the car when delivered and the insurance during the transport would be with the delivery company. Whole thing didn't sound right to me but I have not bought a car for 13 years

Seems strange as for the last 12 months they all have been doing delivery's as a matter of course due to the current issues even if they do charge I wouldn't expect it for free as it's a long journey but would save you the journey on trains and basically an entire day of your time.

As it's a used car it's not factory fresh anyway and you've got to make the journey regardless of who does it...

As for the truck breaking down they are BMW main dealer with a workshop...

Thank you.

I wonder if perhaps they don't want to end up stuck with the distance selling regulations if I buy the car from home hence the push for me to go on site.

beer

Nice one, best to have them deliver it as you've have done, just go round the car checking the obvious things which most of the time we miss! Tyre tread depth/wheels for kerbing/parking dents/brake pads etc....

Hello,

Quick update, as you know the dealership does not have a transporter of their own. They farm the job out to external an company.

Dealer reckons £300 for driven delivery and reckons transported delivery will be a "lot more". For around £335, I can see sites like any an offer to transport it to me. Assuming that the delivery (individual or company) will be insured in the event of any issues.

Do you think it's better for me to accept the "lot more" for the dealer organised transport delivery?

I had a driven delivery when I last bought a car from a dealer. It was fine, gave the chap a lift to the station so he could start his journey to the next pick up and he said that he’d long stopped getting excited about driving fast and/or expensive cars and that in any case the dealers were usually quite stingy with fuel so it was all about maximising mpg.

Unless you’re planning on paying for an enclosed trailer the risks of getting a bit dirty or catching a stone chip seem pretty similar to me.
