dad has left his bmw 5series tourin on teh drive for over a week now as he is on business. these last 2 days the alarm has gone off to no apparent reason.? i open the door and its boiling in there so i let the heat out lock it and its fine... anyone else had this problem and what is causing this.?

It's probably an increase in air pressure due to the heat that's causing the alarm to think someone is pressing on the window or door - depending on the alarm it could also be the internal sensors - should have a swith on the remote (or in the car itself) to disable this part of the alarm (e.g. for when you leave a animal in the car).

i think its the battery... i go to start it and its dead now...

Mine used to go off for no apparent reason when parked up in the garage. It was suggested that I use the vaccum cleaner on the sensors inside, in the middle of the roof. Apparently dust and whatever collects in there making the sensors tempermental (especially if you smoke in the car like I do).

Having done that, feeling as though Beadle would jump out, it has not gone off for no reason since.

i have just noticed! i spider web going up towards the sensor in the roof!! maybe theres a spider in there,.?

Just lock it with the key, hey presto, no alarm probs
