Boy am I Happy!

After much deliberation and a fair amount of searching around, I get to pick up my new car tomorrow.
A lovely Sterling Grey 02 M5 with Schnitzer alloys and pedals, Silverstone leather and a gorgeous V8! Yippee!
Pics to follow as soon as I can get some done, and the best bit is I have a 400 mile drive to do tomorrow afternoon, so plenty of hooning time for me!

Franchised stealer 
- £25k with 56k miles, warranty and all the usual stuff. I'm just hoping that it lives up to expectations in comparison with the M3 - I know it wont be quite as "lively", but it should match its ground covering capability (and be a bit more comfortable - my old bones need that!)

Its a great car - a lot different to the 3: softer ride, less sharp handling, just not as involving overall. BUT it does go when provoked o and I had 4 adults and two kids in it on Sunday, loads of room and loads of performance.
Mind you, fuel consumption is a bit on the , ah-hem, high side. The M3 manages 25mpg, even when driven with gusto, the M5 manages about 20mpg when driven over the same route and in the same way. Ah well, the price I have to pay to carry kids around. Oh, and the brakes fade, badly; a soggy pedal at the best of times it just disappears after a few high speed, cross-country slow-downs. That'll be the first thing to get fixed (after the clutch gets replaced by the stealer, cos that is definitely on its way out - and they haven't put the mats back in!).

Mondeoman, why did you switch, you mention kids, did you find the M3 too small?
The M3 is perfect if you just have 2 or 3 kids, but I've got 4 and they're getting bigger, so I needed the extra space that the 5 gives. Simple as that really. The 3 has a better driving position as well imho
