Just had some new rear tyres put on and the old set had worn evenly. However both front tyres seem to be wearing more on the outer edges. Handling and stability seems fine when driving in a straightline all the way from 1 to 164mph or through corners.

I know Derestrictor's car seems to be wearing the front tyres out in a similar manner. Is this a common problem with this model? or just a side effect of a Hoonistic driving style.

The M5 (from the e28 right through to the e60) have a tendency to wear the front outer shoulders more than the rest of the front tyres - mainly due to the amount of weight on them during cornering.

Thanks Tony. Blame it on the roundabouts then.

That is about the long and short of it... People used to complain alot about it.

Plus yours and herr Restrictor will spend most of its life trying to stay on all four wheels and not two..

this is why I bought proxies for my M5. The tread pattern seems to take this into account.

I'm now firmly on the eyebrow raising side of legality, in this respect and am wondering how much fun will be forgone with the impending switch to P-Zero Rosso Corsas?

Certainly, I'm hoping they quell the tramlining au ferret tendency which affects heavy accelerative bursts (i.e. any forward motion, period.)

Mr. Leeman.

Why not just swap them, admit you have to refit to respective wheels, half way through their shortened lifespan? It seems to work for mine.
