hi all
i was just wondering what other 328/330ci owners have found is the usuall running temperature, i have just bought mine and so far even on a long run the temp gauge never goes past a quarter, where as on most cars it`s about half way on the gauge, the only time i`ve seen it at the halfway point is in a cue of stationery traffic, wondering if this is normal or maybe the thermostat needs looking at
thanks chris

Should be about halfway so check it has not broken, they are prone to plastic clips breaking so it fails open.

I have a 528i (1998). The temp guage has the blue and red segments and two white markers. Recently I have noticed that on motorway runs the needle, which generally sits dead centre in the guage, has been dropping towards but not below the white marker. On slower roads/in town it returns to the dead centre position. Haven't yet managed to convince myself that there's anything wrong with the thermostat as the heater comes on reasonably quickly after a cold start. Atre other owners getting similar readings in these cold days of winter?

New thermostat fitted and temperature guage now remains dead centre at all times.
