Well you could start by advertising in the PH Advertisements section, instead of cheekily trying to blag an advert in here...

Not trying to blag an advert on here. Looking for advice of getting the right pricing etc. I thought I may get some advice from people who had just bought or sold similar spec etc or some advice from someone in the trade. If you have any decent advice rather than just assuming something incorrectly then please advise.

An 05 M3 with a manual box and no sat nav trades at £34.5k. So private advert at £35995?

A quick search on Autotrader shows identical cars going for between £38K and £44K in the trade. You'd probably need to ask less to sell privately, bearing in mind there are thousands of E46 M3s for sale in the UK.

My personal opinion is that if you have to sell it, you're best to price it very competitively to sell quickly as you won't want to try to sell it once the new M3 comes out.

Advertising here is always a good option along with Autotrader.

Good luck with the sale.

Yep, £33-34k is best you could expect. Was offered £4k off a new one without haggling, so I guess £5k off is pretty possible.

You have the rest of the year to sell before the new M3 comes out. It won't be available here until Spring 07.

FWIW you have dropped £10k retail list to trade in seven months but it will now only depreciate at £4-5k pa trade to trade. Possibly keep it?

M3CB,

I'd say that at £34-35k yours would be in the right ballpark. Maybe pitched at the lower end if you require a quick sale. I recently paid £36k for my fully loaded (bar rear sunblind) 54 plate M3 with 12k miles on the clock.

FWIW, mine lost it's first owner a grand a month for the first 12 months in depreciation alone. I hope that this will slow down a bit in the 2nd and 3rd year, now that it's my money and not his! LOL

Good Luck with the sale if you decide to go ahead

Matt
