CSL gear selected

Perhaps I'm lazy, but I cannot see in the service manual what it means when the gear selected as shown in the display is flashing on and off. This has only just started to happen after 10 months of ownership and only 10 miles after a service from an approved BMW dealer.

Is this a problem.

It should say in the manual, could be a door or bonnet open I think.

Thank you guys, I've opened and closed the (lightweight) bonnet today and its done the trick.
