My office is 30 yds away from Sytner City.they have an Alpina Z8 in the showroom in Silver,with tan leather / alcantara.
I have read a couple of road tests,which were not over impressive.Having seen it in the flesh it really does have fantastic presence,the build quality materials & general finish were again better than expectations.
It really will be a classic in the future.For £94,580 sticker a lot of buyers will go for the SL 55 AMG,but hopefully these will get bought so we can enjoy them when they are in their 30's (grand)..worth a look if you get the chance.

did it have switchtronic ? if so there it is a special edition (only 11 UK cars).
