I am looking for someone to advise or fit, SAT Nav in my M5 2002, SOME PEOPLE SAY YOU CAN GET A RETROFIT KIT, BUT bmw DO NOT LIST FOR MY CAR BUT DO FOR ALL OTHER e39'S

I have the full fitting instructions in PDF format, but I am confused over the loom, some list dsp some dont

Anyway I have managed to purchase a 16.9 widescreen and the mkIII nav unit

Yes its possible and I even believe there is a tech note from BMW about this - though not all technicians know about it.

You have gone most of the way with the screen and computer. But you also need the TV tuner and the wiring loom as well as a few other bits. I know of a few people who have retro-fitted satnav and are pleased, but its not cheap. Best to do some Google searches and background checking. That said, check out the site below:

Its US based but he has ALL of the information you might need - even complete BMW partcode lists for everything.

yes thanks for that, I have most of the info already but have conflicting details on the dsp and non dsp, some say you can use the retrofit nav loom, others say I need the full loom.

I think (and I really mean THINK) that you will need a full replacement loom if you have DSP. Its so different to the non-DSP loom that its going to need quite a bit of a change. I may be completely wrong of course, but try Bimmernav though - maybe try contacting him directly....

Do you have DSP?
