Recently bought an E36 M3 (78k miles). First thing when the car is cold I get misfires when idle & hestitation when accelerating. This happens for 5-10 mins then once warm all is ok.

Anybody got any ideas what it could be. Plugs & 02 sensors changed 5000 miles ago.
Some people have said it could be AFM or coils but wouldnt this affect the car all the time??

This sounds like the problem i had on my ZM Coupe, (S54) ... but it was the MAF unit. I had it changed under used car warrenty so have not got a clue on price. But sorted the issue.
You can clean these, but not an expert on how ... anyone?

I am suspecting the maf but at £250 I want to be sure.Is there anyway to test it.

Was yours just having problems when cold & fine when warmed up?

My local independent carries spares as these are fairly common. They do a test by blowing compressed air over the MAF and the engine should almost flood if it's working. If it's not, not a lot happens.

Could also be a coil pack and I think faulty coils log a fault code.
