is the fact that you're trading a convertible in October likely to be a factor too? Maybe they will give a better offer (or it'll remain the same?) in say April next year?

I dunno, the M3 convertible is fairly desirably all year round. Obviously its easier to sell just before the Summer but I've heard that the impact of the season is only gonna be ~£250-300 on the price of the car; still putting it way below the dealers offer.

I think you should hold out.

It’s a funny time of year anyway (i know on paper Christmas seems a long way off, but it isn’t and people are already preparing themselves)

21k sounds like good value. The 'damage' you relate to is buggar all to a dealer (although they'll turn it in their favour)

If any trader is offering you in the region of £21.5k, obviosuly they have to make a profit on that. So it must be worth in the region of £22-23k. Have a look on www.bm3w.co.uk, am sure there is a section where you can post the details of your car and they will give you a valuation idea.

Does seem very low. I'd put some new tyres on, and get the wheels and paintwork as pristine as possible. I reckon you could get £22k trade in.

i think that bid is relalistic as your car from what you say is not in the greatest of nick and you dont have any options ie sat nav and hk.

I sold my 2002 fully loaded aprt from 19's and HK for 21.5k in july to a dealer it did have lsb interior though.

it had 37k miles and warranty till march aswell

This Saturday , I was offered £22k trade-in for my 0252 M3 SMG convertible with 24000 on the clock.
I thought that was low, as the book is about £24k without considering the mileage.
Glad to heard you don;t think they'll drop much more with the new E93 coming out.
I may decide to hang on to it as I've already lost more than 10K in less than 2 years.

But having to spend nearly 1500 to keep it on the road , to do about 3000 pa is steep.

I'm also getting a strange sawing noise in 4 gear at low revs .
I'll start a new thread about that .

Think they will continue to depreciate, all cars do, you can guarantee it will be worth a few grand less next year. Nature of the beast Im afraid.

The car books at £24,875 @ 41k.

That includes Nav, without nav it needs adjusting to:

£22,875 @ 41k.

If I were to buy that for stock, i'd want it owing me no more than £21-21.5k

As PCD has said, someone is trying to firmly plant one in the knackers. Go elsewhere.

This post does not consitute an offer to purchase, give Edward a call for that!

Don't worry about the Nav. With the amazing growth of Tom Tom and friends the general public doesn't give a monkeys. They buy a system for £300 and the last thing they do is leave it in the car when they sell it. No one is going to pay an extra grand or two at the dealers when they can go down the road and pay £300 at Halfrauds.

2-3 years ago no Nav in a high spec BMW was a problem, not now.

M3 Cab's however are more sensitive to colour and spec than a coupe. Cab for pose, coupe for track days.

That just my opinion (M3 Coupe owner)

People do care about manufacturer sat nav, hence why it takes such a kicking in the book. If they didn't, it wouldn't.
