Twonk!

Don't assume that your car represents all that is BMW - your fighting an uphill struggle here - BMWs are awesome for a reason, I was a VW man through and through until I 'tried' mine, and now, I'll never go back...

Take it back, moan and get it sorted.

Then go buy one with a bigger engine

Is this at me calling me a Twonk if so why are you guys like this.

Simply because you started off with a stupid thread title, an absolutley chuffingly hilarious egotistic explanation as to why you think the 3 series as a whole is crap, and then go on to blindly stick your fingers in your ears when anyone dares to challenge you.

Before you start running around moaning about everything, I suggest that you get your arse down the BMW garage and poke them.

Its people like you who moan and moan who create these chinese whispers - I was always taught that if you haven't anything good to sya, don't bother at all...

What on earth did you expect posting in a BMW specific forum!!!

Like I said, twonk!

I don't envy what you have gone through, however if I am to believe you correctly then you know how the trade works, and that you will get a lemon every so often. I've known people with crossers that just for no reason at all, were complete dogs.

So from that, again I repeat, you're welcome to your opinion, however I'd be careful before you go wading into a forum on BMW enthusiasts slagging off their choice of car, in very much the same way I wouldn't go wandering into an Arsenal pub, telling them they were tts for choosing Arsenal and they should try a bit of Manchester United instead...

Don't forget to also get them to look at the lack of thrills on Acceleration, brakes are poor with car weaving about while braking, steering was like driving a speed boat in a harbour at 6 knot, Clutch is on the limit of needing to be replaced at 44,000 and the speakers, and please don't also forget to tell them that you're an F1 driver rolleyeslaugh

:knob: Oh sorry forgot there wasn't a smiley for coffee bean shakers. Kenco are advertising for staff you know.....HTH

Dear me Your a nice chap! why are you so rude its only a poxy car! all you need to say is gosh something wrong with that car then because mine is fine.

Good job its a forum and not you saying these things face to face, carm down FGS

Seriously thats how the car performs. Yes the A3 should be half the car the 3 series! This why i am say gosh whats going on with this 3 series it was a great car and still is, But i have had bad luck and havent driven a good one.

Lets get this straight? You've driven one apparently bad car. From this you deduce that BMW's are rubbish & create a thread entitled - I shit you not - "I feel sorry for 3-series owners" in the BMW forum. As if to imply that all 3 series owners are dumb fools who've fallen for marketing hype of a crap car.
Then you feign indignant surprise when people rebuke what you've said as being a load of misinformed twaddle. You've implied you're some kind of driving supremo as if this should elevate your opinion, but have failed to quantify what makes you a driving god..... think about it.

PS Your have got to be a very switched on Driver Owning and driving a Shelby Mustang for the last 22 years like i have! You think rear wheel drive Bmws are lively. Both my Bro and I have them and they are not for the faint hearted.

Its not driving God its Shit Gods Speed and i hope he's on my side when drive the shelby to its limit! and Ive had 22 years of practice! Touch Wood Ive not had her out of shape yet or wraped us around a lampost.

Sorry to hear of your troubles Steve but let's face it, you've backtracked a fair bit and made comments that you simply cannot back up and if you were in the trade you'd know how to spot a lemon now wouldn't you. I tend to agree with you actually on some fronts, build quality is not as good as it should be, the dealers are bloody awful, the cars are overpriced, but so is all the competition, its called mass manufacture, but BMW's still drive the best in their class, that is why they are so well liked.

Shelby, you mentioned Rob Collard, I know him quite well, but through work, us Demolition boys all tend to know each other.

Might even get him to give me some driving lessons, in my new M5, he'd better not bloody crash it though

Yes Spotted many Lemons, When i have the time i teach people what to look out for! but they never do learn

This 330 is a friends car he should of learnt the first he bought from a hooky trade! he asked me to look out for a car and i suggested a BMW to him 3 years back But he went out and purchase the first one he saw! a 3 series ci, he got arrested at the vehicle registration office in reading as he was changing private plate! on the spot! The car was on the stolen list and they thought he was one of the crocks! Stressing time He lost the car and lost 18,000 pounds of it, but i have seen it so many times to people, As you know now i have a contact at BMWGB and so with help on the BMW dealer listing and found a great car with all the option pack it was a personal option pack from a BMW finance worker in hook. he didnt go for it instead due to losing out on 18K he bought a cheap golf and i gave up looking for a car for him too, then with out me knowing he again purchased this car! so i didnt interfer, hes had it for 6 months now and i havent got involved with the car untill he came to me for a detail and asked me to look at the rear suspension as he feels its very low, I said thats the M sport was like that, untill i drove it i thought he should of let me know about this car too! at least i could of steered him away from this one too! but iam going to get involved with this car, iam just going make sure its safe and nicely detailed for him. I am going to get it check by Bracknells head office to take note of the history of it! or to find out its has been a friday car or involved in a incident, They are better than the HPI group knowing about there own cars. to me it doesnt show any evidents yet, apart from a shoddy repaint on both rear quarter panels below the crease lines. It just drives very poorly.

enough about BMWs this afternoon another neighbour turned up at my door in a Aston Martin DB9 Softtop Wot a car! sod being on a forum! when that came round.

So if you see a Shelby and a aston going out for a burn on wednesday night Pubs included! then your know its the Twonk!
and you can say Hi Ive spotted the so called Twonk! If you can catch us that is! LOL

The S models too?!

Yeah unfortunately, I have a colleage who had the estate RS4 and then RS6 both were awesome but then i had a drive of a 3.0 s-line cab and as a comparison to my 330ci i just found it dull

hehe

Its ok, S-line does infact suck big time as all it generally means is harder suspension, bigger wheels and sometimes a sportier interior if you pay enough for it.

I love the RS models but some of the S models i.e. S4, S6, S3 and ofcourse the S2 () are bloody quick and extremely capable.

I'am not talking rubbish! i feel the 3 year old 330 istn exciting as the old ones.

Looking at spec the old 3251 sport with 170bhp shows a 0-60 time of 7.2 seconds and this 2003 330ci 225bhp convertible 5 speed shows 0-60 in 6.7 a blick of an eye yet 20 years later and the twincam 30 litre engine against a 2.5 single cam motor istn much more farward is it.
If you had 2 guys road racing these too cars together the E30 would still be a danger to the newer car especailly the 325i M sport that came out at the end of the run. Once i even remember driving a E30 318i thinking shit this is quick, i had to stop and open the bonnet to see what motor was in there, it was the twin cam 318is model it red lined at 7.5 8 thousand revs. Because the e30 was so much lighter those days it could be thrown into and driven out of corners so fast. Side drifting from an exit of a roundabout was bloody amazing! you could hold it the ever! 330 with the traction control off doesnt want to know about turning its wheels faster than the speed of the car at all! so judging by reaction here there must be a problem because its pulling power is poor and feels very heavy!

I was thinking? what is it that this car is lacking!
Does anyone here know if the 2003 330 exhaust has those gates for that back pressure in it that open at a surtan rev, sometimes they seize up closed or open, has this got one fitted i ask, if so sounds like its stuck open as it bellows it tick over! and does the double Vanos unit if at fault slow the car down alot!

some of you may have the 6 speed or the semi auto box that makes it alot better!

If the engine was faster then maybe i could get to feel the car cornering better and responed to the way i ask it to do! To me at the moment the Bloody thing need that M button.

Like Clackson talking about the M5 before he pressed that specail little Button.

I sit there saying come on i am wait for something to happen, it doesnt even bite above 5/6 thousand revs up to cut out.
