z4 3.0 coupe - cheap contract hire
Discussion
Enjoy!
Great (really great) engine/drivetrain, very enjoyable handling once you get to know it: tramlines heavily, and ride is pretty harsh too but is really benign and very adjustable if you use the brakes into the apex. Much better than I ever expected, just spent a few hugely enjoyable days tooling around some alpine roads in ours last week - its a great car for big-distance/fun-driving!
I'm constantly amazed at he efficiency of the engine. 28mpg until Lyon, mostly 95-100mph cruise on the autoroute.... many alpine blasts resulted in a reduction to 25mpg, which rose a little whilst returning to UK (mostly 100mph again). Had to do 70mph average recently whilst waiting for others to catch up - 38mpg over 30miles!!!!! Not bad for a genuine sub 6-second car

I have recently sold my porker due to 2nd baby and I am looking for a fast daily commute and spotted BMW doing contract hire on 3.0ltr coupe for £299 / month which is a lot of car for that budget.
Test driving tomorrow - any advice?
Out of interest where did you see this deal?Test driving tomorrow - any advice?
It's a great car and very well specced including metallic and leather as standard.
The cars can be had for some amazing deals - up to 14% discount which I guess is then reflected in a low contract hire rate.
Unfortunately for some reason they are not a great seller and thus discounts are required to shift them.
I had one and when it worked it was a fantastic car, but mine was eventually replaced as it spent 3 weeks off the road out of 7.

douglas park bmw here in Scotland advertised the deal in the Glasgow Herald on friday. 6+24 or 6+36 profiles at £299 + VAT. Not as fast as my previous C4s but a helluva car. Works out just short of £100 a week over the deal. Not a bad proposition for me when compared to non BMW finance quotes
Interesting - had a wee look but could only find this deal on the Douglas Park site:
http://www.douglasparkbmw.co.uk/newbmw/selector.ht... (under click here for our finance options)
- £399 per month, £2.5k deposit
Any idea if the £299 deal is still available?

The DouglesPark 'deal' didn’t hold water for me either.
That said the dealers can beat the offer listed on the BMW web page they just need a little push to achieve this.
I suggest you have a look at lingcars.com or have a haggle with some dealers, as I did!
As an indicator I struck a deal based on the following: 2 years and 12K P.A with the addition of the comfort pack which came in at £370 per month with 3 payments in advance which I’m happy with. Now I just have to wait till mid Sep for the car.

So, you sold your 911 (which is a 2+2) and are considering a strict 2 seater ... presumably so that there's no way you could fit the wife and kids in it!! Like your thinking mate! ;-)Test driving tomorrow - any advice?
