Can anyone tell me if i can fit normal shocks / not self levelling shocks to the rear and then just block the pipes coming from the power steering pump. what are the implications if any?? this is obviously a much cheaper option many thanks!!!

your question makes no sense to me.

The shocks are similar anyway, the springs on the other hand are air springs.

Not sure where the power steering comes into it.

Whats the problem ?

ONE OF THE REAR SHOCKS HAS BURST THEY ARE SELF LEVELLING AND ARE FED BY THE POWER STEERING PUMP, IF I CHANGE THEM TO SEALED SHOCK ABSORBERS I WILL HAVE PIPES PUMPING FLUID NOWERE. I KNOW THESE PIPES CANT BE BLOCKED AS THE PUMP WILL BUILD UP EXCESS NEGATIVE PRESSURE. THE AMERICAN FORUMS TALK OF KITS TO ELIMINATE THE SELF LEVELLING. SELF LEVELLING SHOCKS ARE £273+VAT EACH TO EXPENSIVE IN RELATION TO THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE!!

Yes you can - it's something that's done quite often on SLS equipped e34 M5s.
