Z4 usb iPod connection/ Sat nav

I was thinking of swapping my 6cd for a usb/iPod connection like the one in the 1 Series, i.e contolled through the hi-fi.

I asked a local firm and there was lots of sucking air through teeth, noises about it being a bar steward or something and £230. Less noises from main dealer but more £s, predicatably.

Has anyone here had it done? Was it a sod, where does the mp3 go, glovebox or centre store-box?

Also DVD sat nav suddenly intermittently not reading. New disc required of hardware fault?
