Just noticed this and thought it looked awsome.

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/218032.htm

I was looking at this idea a while ago, i really like the 8 series but unless you go for the Csi model i thought they were a bit down on power for the weight. One thing i hear mentioned was that the automatic gearboxes are made from chocolate so might not be up to the job. That said this conversion seems to have very little expense spared.

Thanks for the email last night Tom ... From a standing start then yes, they will bow to lighter cars (although still no slouches), but once rolling that V12 has masses of torque on tap and it really does shift.

You'll have to have a ride in mine once it is all done. It is being chipped specifically to make it a bit livlier, including the gearbox.

Having said that ... if that Supercharged one had appeared a few weeks ago scratchchin ... I've already asked him where he got it supercharged and if they do V12s hehe

Prepared for the budget frown

None about, at any price.....

Still, the Daimler Coupe isn't exactly a bad way to spend the summer cool

Who boosted the engine on yours to 6.3? I bet that's quite fun in a very subtle kind of a way biggrin

Place called AJ 6 Engineering, through Classic Engineering in Waltham Cross wo look after the Coupe.

Its not been on a rolling road but I'm guessing it may have around 400Lb/ft......

Certainly enough to give most modern stuff a shock biggrinevilhehe

Munich Legends had an Oxford Green 850Csi with about 64k on the clock a few weeks ago. Might be worth givivng them a ring to se if it's still in stock.

I saw another one for sale today in Performance BMW magazine (I think), I was just having a flick in WHSmiths. Worth a look.

Saw it in March at the Cheddar Gorge meet. It had an S8 badge on the boot lid which confused a few people until we saw under the bonnet. However on the day it had a little shunt from another over enthusiastic 8 series driver :0 I believe it was all covered under insurance properly.

This was the pictures and info on the day

Can't access the site.

Stu ... I have already made enquiries about supercharging the 850 ... I might not be able to get hold of a nice CSi ... but I can do the next best thing and get a CiS! biggrin

Bottom line was that another 840 went in to the back of the one for sale, damage to the car that caused the shunt was £8080 +vat. The one in the add needed a rear bumper + a bit of panel beating.
