Just bought an X5

I went for a back to back test drive of a X5 3.0d and a X5 3.0i with no intention to purchase that day. However the 3.0i sport that had just been traded in was exactly the spec I would choose, low mileage and in pefect condition, I could not resist.
The interesting point (for me anyway!!) was the difference between the petrol and the oil burner, having owned a 330D before I was leaning towards having an X5 diesel....until the road test. Although the power of the diesel was good and especially the torque at lower revs, there was a noticable difference. The petrol engine was so much smoother and of course quieter, even considering the better fuel economy there was no way I would choose the diesel after driving both back to back.
I have had the car now for about 3 weeks and so far it has performed absolutely pefect, performance is adequate and economy is reasonable. It is my first time with a 4x4 and so far I am well impressed.
