Price wise its a bit steep but thats a different issue.
Not as steep as the 3 series Coupe though!

To be honest, if it wasn't for the special discount I can get, I'd probably choose a high spec VW Golf instead. But with my discount a 1 series ends up close on price to a Golf (remember, top end Golfs are well over £20K now!). There's no doubt that the 1 series has a nicer interior and a better engine than the Golf and of course rear wheel drive smile
Well Im testing a GT Sport 5 door with many opions this weekend and its list is £22k - I think without the options it would have been £18.5k before haggling. My point is that on Drive the Deal you can get a 123D M sport a list £25+k car for £19.9k

I've had a few recent test drives in the GT 170. Very nice car and a great ride/handling compromise. Very smooth ride, yet still quite sharp handling. Front wheel drive was only an issue in the wet, when the torque delivery was just too much for the grip available. But overall a great car.

I agree Drive the Deal have some good bargains too.
But don't you have to take BMW's expensive finance to get the full DTD discount? Otherwise you have to add another grand. But anyway, I can get them even cheaper so it doesn't matter smile
