im sure the m3 is faster but a 6 cyl has more torque. does the e30 therefore offer any more tunability/potential than the m3? or is the m3 truly better all around even with the 4banger?

i'm interested in a trackcar, anyone know of any comparisons of an m3 to a e30 6cyl?

Chassis wise the E30 M3 only shares its bonnet and doors with the E30. It is a world apart, one of those with an E36 M3 lump and uprated brakes and suspension would be great. The 4pot requires to be thrashed within an inch of its life to make progress.

Doors are not the same.
