1991 - it has had near as dammit a full rebuild, whole interior out, all suspension off, you name it ... all by my good friend Talkwrench on here ... not sure what Michael posts under on the E31 forum, but 8Tech and Derin know him (and wuffler?).

To start with, both engine and gearbox will be chipped ... we have uprated and slightly lowered Eibach springs from the States along with the matching Bilstein race dampers ... it also has CSi anti-roll bars and negative camber plates so all in all the handling should be quite responsive and tight. It has a custom-built straight through and de-catted sound system, which sounds lovely from what I heard on the phone the other night ... What else, oh yes ... it has an M5 diff fitted to make it a little more sprightly! biggrin

Other little touches are Alpina wheels, although only the 17 or 18s I believe, some smart red calipers and a rather splendid carbon/aluminium gear shift.

All in all it will be a very special car and ... in practically production line condition.

It is Mauritius blue with silver grey leather.

I have been impatiently waiting since July and regularly drive Michael to distraction with phone calls ... to say that I am looking forward to seeing the finished article would be somewhat of an understatement.

oh, and not forgetting the braided brake hoses and racing fluid, which I do on all my cars as a matter of course ... ever since I boiled the fluid on the Ferrari ... coming down the Alps!

You will understand that Michael is just waiting to road test it before he does any chipping, but as the underside is like a new car he refuses point blank to take it out with the roads like they are at the moment! biggrin

Same here! As you know, I had mine re-mapped a few weeks ago but apart from one brief road test (on a dry sunny day) I refuse to take mine out either...even though I'm dying too!

Morning all! As the proud owner of 3 e31's (and a half stripped shell for parts), I could be called enthusiastic about this particular model, I guess!
Pride and joy is my CSi which never ceases to amaze me. I also have a lovely silver Ci which is the perfect GT tourer and the rather special Ci I've been rebuilding for Al (Burriana). That is an 850 like no other - with a rather unique exhaust note (or should I say orchestral chord)!
I'll post a whole load of pics in Photobucket and let everyone peruse some of the more intricate parts in the next day or so.

Yup - I'm UK_Mike!
Fortunately for all, words fail me when it comes to "K-Bar" anti-roll bars.
Its a long story and one that means I'm over $1000 dollars lighter and absolutely nothing to show for it except a great deal of annoyance!

On the subject of the famous "K bars". Would the name Greg be involved in any way?
