Do us a favour, ensure you can afford to run it... otherwise you'll be adding to the long list of fked up 8's.
i reckon the average ownership length for most 8's must be about 6 months. People are lured in by the amazing attraction and cheap purchase costs (£5k will buy you a good'n)... only to then realise you need £5k p.a. to run one (or a very good connection with a used BMW parts supplier/breaker)!some more of my z4m.... she's bi-colour now! lol always makes me smile when i see this thread.... i started it yeeeaarrrss ago , forgot about it for a little while then its got another 40+ pages from the last time i saw it!!

Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit here, but I'm picking up my first BMW tomorrow, hopefully around 2pm. I'm like a kid at Xmas at the moment!
528i SE Auto. Paid £999 for it. Did I get a good deal for it? I don't know, from the photos it looks very well looked after, still got its BMW first aid kit, torch and tool kit.
Looking forward to the drive home tomorrow, might have to take a bit of a detour to my favourite roads!

Surely you've looked at it?
Nope. Hadn't paid any money for it at the time, if it wasn't any good, I would have walked away.Luckily, it was brilliant! So nice to drive (I didn't get to drive as I didn't have insurance, but step dad did). So quiet, couldn't believe it.
Got it now though...its lovely! The only thing I don't like is the MPG thing under the rev counter...thats a bit upsetting sometimes!
Didn't really get chance to drive it as it was a boring motorway 90% of the way!
Just picked up our new car. Replaced my OH's Vectra CDTi SRi which was wiped out by a van driver crossing in front of it (I did not pay the van driver to do it). Luckily nobody was injured although the Vectra is comprehensively dead.
So we spent 10 days trawling and discussing options and bought the above today.
Very happy although still lots to learn on the car.
Technically my OH car but I think I shall claim ownership when it suits me in that inimitable way that us women do.
Added to our mini fleet of an honest reliable family workhorse (Mondeo diesel estate) and our little pocket rocket (Mk1 MR2 Supercharger)

Just picked this up at lunch time today.
2002 330 Ci Sport manual with black leather heated memory seats (still as new, even the driver's seat bolster), power-fold mirrors, xenons, autolights/autowipers, Harman Kardon Hi-Fi upgrade and electric sunroof (all of which seem to work), plus all the usual E46 Coupe kit.
97k miles on the clock, and seems well looked after (big pile of receipts and invoices, more or less from new).
Pleased to get some change from £4k, with 6 months road tax, a brand new MOT and warranty included from an independent dealer - they even did some paint work on it for me.
Strikes me as superb value for money for such a nice comfortable, quick car.
Only slight niggle is that the original owner chose not to opt for the front armrest. I guess I can just buy one from eBay and it bolts on quite easily? Although I have to say, I've not missed it (my previous E46 had one) so far.
Plenty of work done in the last couple of years (thermostat, springs, control arm bushes). However, I can see no mention of the water pump. Would you guys recommend I had that done?
Finally picked it up after a row with the bank over transfer, first things first the eyelids came off.
Anyone got any idea what the 'TM' button on the dash is? its under the climate control panel and has a knob next to it, nothing in the manual about it and I cant figure out what it does.
Now just got to decide what to do with my old E34.
