You saw the light! B58 is meant to be a really nice engine, and almost negates the needs for a diesel for many. Not to mention you get the proper suspension with it.

I do about 6000 miles a year. I have zero need for a diesel smile
I was only looking at a 335D because cost/performance they was hard to beat.

The other 335D was an utter utter dog.
I made a post warning people about it but it was removed. Just google RF65NZC for my thoughts wink

It looked nice from a distance but everything else was wrong with it.

Oh dear.

All that mud..... I wonder if it had been near a flood. I had an E61 once that as it turned out had been a flood victim!!

Well avoided. I like mine though!

Reading your post on Bimmerforums, it would seem to me that it had been flood damaged but not bad enough to be categorised.

I checked my car in the BMW garage as it is the same age and same mileage and it was clear they hadn't jet washed the engine bay but there was zero muck in the wrong places. Sure, there was muck in there but its what happens.

Its amazing how much your gut can sway you on things. The 335D I instantly felt bad about before i'd even got up close to see the mud and scratches. This one I just saw it from a distance and knew it'd be too good to say no to. The paintwork is immaculate, the body, wheels, interior. Just everything screams "I've been loved". I feel a bit bad considering I've just cleaned the Volvo and the Cmax and neither of those are loved biggrin

I finally joined the club. Pick this up on Thursday.

I spent two months looking for a 335D Xdrive and somehow ended up with a 340i RWD biggrin

Looks lovely. A nice subtle fast family wagon (and definitely the right engine choice!)

Thanks for the comments regarding the 640i.
I specifically opted for a 640i over the 640d,
the N57 3l diesel is quite refined (I've had one before in an E90), but minor vibrations can still be felt even in the isolated 6 series platform.
Also not quite like the way they sound for a car in this price range.
No offense to the 640d owners here of course.

Coming from an E92 335i with same N55 engine (albeit with Eisenmann sport exhaust),
I quite knew what to expect in this 6 series guise.

Been hankering after a 7 for a while since I hit my forties! Collected this last week, very impressed so far

Love these - they drive a lot more nimbly than you could really expect for something that size and width. Had one for a week as a courtesy car and was hugely impressed. Lovely interior, especially with the massage seats!

Nimbly - probably due to the carbon core I've heard so much about.

First thing I noticed was how small/light the car feels on the road considering it's actually size. Hardly any difference from my 5 series really. I suspect it does have something to do with that carbon core considering what the F02 was like. Interior finish is on a different level too, lovely place to sit.

Love the 7 - nice choice. I wonder if those rear seat screens will grate after a while - they look too big and in the way a little to me.

I'd love to see a 7 drifting. Does it have a locking diff?

I've noticed a lot of cars now are doing away with headrest screens in favour of this type. This is the LWB so I think the larger screens suit it. They're quite a way in front of you, even more so if the rear seats are reclined. I'm 6ft 2" and have to lean forward to reach them. There's plenty of space getting in and out so there's little chance of knocking them. Might be awkward on the normal wheelbase if you're loading stuff onto the back seat.

Nice! The e63 has really grown on me over the last few years for some reason, when the time comes to replace the e39 (no immediate plans!) I think it may be replaced by a v8 e63.
