Show me your BMW....I'm sure it qualifies as a BMW.

It's my 2016, F56 fully loaded John Cooper Works, with JCW PRO kit as it came from the dealership all tweaks and mods done before 1st registration by BMW dealership as it was to be their show car or demonstrator so insurance class it as a standard car which means I'm allowed to change it back to as it was when it left BMW factory or keep it as it is now as it left the showroom from new, change anything outside of these parameters would then take it into a modified car.

JCW PRO AEROKIT +
Includes add-ons for front splitters, rear splitters, carbon mirror covers, and air intake, (rear spoiler tips and rear diffuser- painted Chili red).

JCW PRO S/S EXHAUST, and CARBON Tips
Make way for some goosebumps. The JCW Pro Exhaust silencer valve system (Bluetooth 4.0 remote controlled) comes with two modes: 'Sport' Road use, flap closed on second pipe, hit controller push button twice flap opens 'Race' track use only.

JCW PRO SPORTS SUSPENSION
It yields noticeably better road holding, very high stability, and perfect handling. For the ultimate go-kart feel - currently set to 50% all round midpoint to help with the potholes in and around the Sussex coast.

18" BMW Mini 506 cross spoke wheels with 205/40/18 P7 run-flats, having to run them a little lower on pressure as they are as hard as nails when inflated as per spec.

And yes sure it puts a smile on my face every day as long as I can avoid the Sussex potholes.

I think they all suffer from poor wheels. Event the option extra wheels are terrible, not helped by the plastic wheel surrounds. A small spacer pushes them flush with the body and is a huge improvement in the look.

I hate the concept of spacers because I dislike the idea of compromising the consciously designed chassis geometry purely because you prefer "the look".

It's like the idiots that compromise lighting performance by fitting blue tinged bulbs which reduce effective light output but "look cool".

Orrrrrrrrrrrr They actually benefit the vehicle by giving a wider track allowing a lower roll centre and a more stable car, ultimately offering a faster corner speed. Car manufactures are selling cars to 10,000's of people, so they set the car up for your standard driver, they are going to find a middle road for everyone, without hindering sales. Whereas, you have the freedom to add some tweaks to the car to aid it.

My 182's brakes are fine, so why would Renault fit more expensive parts? But I feel, for fast track days, they lack, so I purchased bigger brakes. Or is it just a stupid cosmetic thing I've done and should've got those covers from eBay?

Idiots like BMW Motorsport? Their FACTORY RACE CARS used spacers in WTCC etc.

There is also a great variety in the size, not wanting to 'stance' the car by any means, but a few mils can improve both look and performance.

I really want to like the MINI Coopers current gen. but there are a few things that put me off them, this is one. Call me shallow...

I understand what you say about wheel spacers, and on some cars yes when fitted with good wheels and tyres give the car a look and drive like no other, however this car would not benefit due to the John Cooper Works coilover suspension fitted if I raise it all the way up I could get away with spacers, its currently set mid point all round no spacers, if it was dropped and spacers added the rear tyres tops would be on the plastic wheel arch trim.

See pic this is the stance and look as created by Coopers Tonbridge and with a new price tag of £39995.00 I'm sure if it needed spacers they would of been fitted, plus I dont want to mess with it or change anything as its classed as a unmodified F56 JCW as all mods and tweeks were done before car was registered new, If I make changes its classed as a modified car.

Ian Campbell.

I see what you mean Ian. I didnt realize your car had the lowered suspension set up tbh.

They are an absolute blast to drive and your car lacks for little.

I have an F56 JCW on ST coilovers daily and switching to Team Dynamics with an offset of ET40 massively improved the car (my car was specc'd with 17" from the factory too so not really a noticeable difference in unsprung weight. honestly well worth fitting a set of spacers

My recent purchase, 325d N57. I need to swap the insurance over next month as my current provider will not cover me for a remap. The rear shocks are getting ready, that's a job for next month as well.

I'm picking up my new G30 on Friday......by new I mean ex-demo bounce

Side by side with my old (still un-sold F31)....

Apart from the new car, I'm really pleased to finally have a car that is not white! hehe

G30 is a 520d with all the gadgets...HUD, digital cockpit, park assist, HiFi audio (I'll install my BimmerTech amp in the back at some point), cream leather interior, M-Sport trim and a few other gadgets and accessories.

I've also bought an M-Performance carbon spoiler for the back which I think adds little tasteful aggressiveness and I would love the full carbon diffuser but at €1500 plus install, it's a touch expensive! Rear windows will also be tinted as I live in the South of Spain and I have a 2-year-old boy so need to keep the sun off him.

Very excited to pick it up on Friday....

Well the DVLA finally payed out so after an interesting few years I have treated myself to this, it’s the sdrive 23i, m sport.

100,500 miles but 1 owner and FSH, I really, really love it!

It was very well specced, the only things missing seem to be elec seats and heated wheel. Nice solid car, drives like new and quick enough for me, manual box, full idrive, etc.

My retirement treat. '13MY 30d. Slightly above average miles, but otherwise VGC. Professional nav, sport seats in Oyster. I had a Webasto electric tilt & slide 'roof fitted.

My third BMW. Previously ran a '91 E30 320i touring with a 2.7 lump for 10 years/115k miles. When that succumbed to terminal rot, I replaced it with an '03 E46 330d.

I'd like to see one in full white, with subtle M stripe livery and wheels like the M1 had.
