Picked up my new motor on Friday. 540i xDrive. Coming from an M135i, the way this puts its power down is astounding. Loving the extra luxury and comfort too.

I didn't. I had a look around the m340i in the showroom. It looked a great bit of kit and plenty of power but I'm not a fan of the the styling of the new shape.

I've no doubt. I've heard nothing but good things about them and they are pushing out some impressive bhp figures. I'd already signed up to the 5 when the dealer got the m340i in. Like I say I had a good poke around it. Lovely machine but styling just didn't float my boat. it didn't help having black wheels. Very popular at the minute but one of my car pet peeves!

It’s a 640i, looks great in the flesh. Didn’t expect red to suit the car but it works for me...

Yes it is. On my phone that 640i looked like it was Sakhir Orange.

Interesting combo. As a man with an e61 myself - just a slightly smaller engine than yours - I can't get past the uselessness of saloons by comparison. My other cars generally accommodate less humans and less stuff.
