Just in case no one has noticed that my 2016 435i Cabriolet is a four series! I special ordered it in 2015. Now at four yrs it only has only 21K kms. Better than any of my pervious Mercs including a 500 SL.

Just picked up my new toy to replace the 335i. Sad to see that one go, but this beauty made up for it!

Monaco Blue with Silverstone interior.

Do you not get envious of your passengers?
Very, it has 4 comfort seats so everyone has the same, plus massage in the front.

Wills2, is that the 760? Very nice. Back of these are SO comfy! Mine is wasted as hardly anyone ever sits in the back. Kids very occasionally and the outlaws every now and then. I sat in it one night last week, just out on the drive. Reclined the seats, adjusted the pillow, blinds up, heat, scent & massage on and watched Dark Knight on blu-ray. Away from the kids and peaceful. I'd only gone out to see if I could figure out one of the controls on the tablet!

I wish! No it's just a 740d xdrive, not as well equipped as your though I don't have the tablet or the screens in mine, but like you no one hardly sits in the back but it is lovely back there.

Had it 3 months now.

Jobs done DIY:

Mechanical: oil, filters, glow plug control unit, diff oil, boots & bump stops for all four shocks (fronts done at garage), Hunter alignment

Interior: leather cleaned and bolster repainted, parking brake switch replaced, cabin filters, installed tweeters + Focal front speakers, fixed soft open on glovebox

Bodywork: clayed, compounded, polished and three coats of wax.

To do: wheel refurb, rear pads and discs, clean inlet manifold

Such a smooth and comfortable big car smile

Munzy, can I ask what you used for the leather clean/bolster work please? Same interior as mine and I need to do some work on it...thanks.

We took this e38 735 on a tour around Europe a few years back. This photo was taken in the south of France.

Hi Steve,

Sorry for the slow reply.

I used this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272958739626?ul_noapp=t...

Great for £6 although now a few weeks in and the bolster is showing slight cracks, however still a vast improvement on before.

I reckon a sealant or 'clearcoat' would help longevity and I think long term that's how I'll go.

See post 47 here for my pics:

Possibly the rattiest, highest-mileage, most abused V12 smoker on PH... but I like it. Not that you'd know it under that coating of mud, but I have had a few cosmetic defects on it corrected! Just need to sort that persistent misfire at idle... and get the manual gearbox mode working again...

My PH worthy M135i and Forester 2.5XT duo.

Sadly the Forester has now gone after 10 years and 150k miles. I hope the BMW can live up to it!

It's probably madness but it has yet to present me with any really scary bills. £7k for a 6.0 48v V12 ain't bad. It was running beautifully tonight - and it doesn't feel at all baggy or worn-out despite having 264,000 miles on it. First 201k were done by its first MoT in 2008 though...

I have a rough idle most of the time now when warm on my 550i. What do you think might be causing yours?

Dunno... it's had twelve new spark plugs and that didn't cure it. Could be injectors, could be a sticky valve, but it ran perfectly from cold yesterday so...
