Yes, B58 so remaps produce 420 > 450 depending on which RR you use. I used BW in Hayes, who have a dyno dynamics RR. They state it is an honest dyno that will always read below other places. He has been on and on at me to take it to Charlie at SRR purely to see what figures it makes, so I have booked in for next weekend. It should be over 430 on his.

The B58's tend to roll around 360bhp stock, so in reality this may be only a 65bhp ish jump. I am interested to see what SRR figures are though. They should be higher than the below. I went with the Black map, not the red.

Where did you get it done and are you happy with the work? Thinking of getting mine done. How noticeable was the difference?

You understand that a higher reading RR doesn't actually mean more power don't you...I'd say the base line figures just show that dynos are still correcting engines that already correct and the drive train loss is, well still made up from about 20 years ago...BMW dyno'd the engine on a bench not a rolling road, so it's a nonsense to compare the numbers.

But if it makes you happy all is well.

I understand tuning is a minefield, and that it can never be an exact science.

I have to be honest, I don't really understand your post. All I can say is that I researched hugely on a specialist forum and went with a trusted outfit who have more than 30 years in the business.

In terms of being happy - yup, definitely I am with the car and how it behaves.

As above, BW in Hayes near Heathrow. I ran it past our resident Surrey Rolling Road manager, Vixpy1, he says they are reputable. That was after a lot of research on BabyBM.

I've done almost 3k miles of mixed but hard driving since mapped, car is faultless. It just begs for more. The B58 really is something else,

That’s impressive. I’m spending circa £4k on my 435i to get it to what I’m told will be around 470/480, which includes turbo/intercooler/various charge/down pipes, exhaust and remap. I didn’t realise the 40i was that far ahead of the 35i to begin with.

For tuning it seems to be - the N55 is a cracking engine though. I paid £350 for my map. I watch other peoples vids on youtube, and many B58 remaps are dynoing around the 440 mark.

Lol. I used the force when ordering. And I am a big Star Wars fan. My nickname on many forums is Jedi Master so looks like I chose my car wisely!!!!

Not the most fun to keep clean but I have just bought a DI cylinder to rinse it after washing to see how it helps.
