BMW's 4 and 5 ...

Had the M2 Competition 2 years. Loving every minute of it.

440i we've had 4 years

Absolute monster and a lovely way to put the miles in.
Very nice. thumbup

They are a lovely 2 car combo for sure. cool

I was secretly hoping that the M2 Comp was a manual though! biggrin I really wish my M4 was a manual instead of the DCT to be fair!
SWMBO was fed up with manual to be honest and was never happy driving the Z4MR we had. So the 440i was our first Auto and the DCT was a mandatory prerequisite otherwise the Mrs wouldn't drive it. To be honest the DCT is pretty decent (Not PDK good but not miles away) and when you're making progress way better than leaving it in full auto.

My 1st BMW, back from when I was a teen (RIP)

My current BMW, now I've grown up.

Funnily enough the 2nd one cost exactly 10 times more than the first..

I'm always torn with this too and I didn't like the manual gearbox in my Z4MR either. I don't dislike the DCT and I think that it adds a bit of drama to the car in terms of the quick gear changes, plus it is very fast changing as well. However I always naturally seem to miss the third pedal in a performance car though.

I'd really like to try a manual M4 to compare it to the DCT.

Respectfully you've gone backwards in my opinion. Bigger, Newer and more Expensive does not = better.

My 1997 Z3 Japanese import. Bought for commuting, then changed jobs and ended up dry stored until this week (my brother needs his garage back). I'd forgotten just how handsome these are. Less than 30k miles on the clock too.

Update on mine after plenty of carbon additions and a well overdue wash

Which splitter is this? I am am concerned the BMW one will lower the front end too much and it will scrape. This one looks better.

Thanks

They’re the genuine M Performance front winglets with a Sterckenn-style centre splitter which I bought from AC Carbon, I think other companies like AUTOID/R44 Performance sell them too.

I keep expecting the bad guys in a spaghetti western to reach out from between those bars, but that interior looks fab.

You've got to careful that you don't fall in when you walk past, I think that's why they fitted the shutter system.
