Are they 18 inch CSL's (or reps)? That looks utterly perfect to me. Much prefer 18's on an M3.Edited to add the link here - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Just tried to fire up my E61 550i after I think 2 months of inactivity. Battery completely flat. Had to use the metal part of the key to open the door. Couple of minutes on the jump leads and eventually fired up into life. Now it is on the battery charger / conditioner. I wander how long it will take to get juiced up.
Pic from June - its looking a bit dirtier now.

Might be Apex wheels and yes in 18 inch. Also see the Stoptek Brake Kit up front. He had a thread on it somewhere in Readers Rides probably. I think he had a different username before.

Yes they were Apex ARC 8's 18"s, low weight, with CSL 'inspired' design.
The combination of 18" (thicker sidewall) and low weight wheels made a very positive difference to the ride quality vs 19"s.

Pic whoring I know but rude not to take a couple after cleaning yesterday
I was going to ask you on IG yesterday, but since we're both here... what's going on with the gearknob? Is it a direct replacement for a more modern item?Does feel a bit nicer to use than the standard stubby one in another car I test drove. Granted you don’t exactly use it for long with having the paddles.

Picked this up at the weekend. Advertised Thursday, phoned the guy Friday, trip to Glasgow Saturday...
It's a 323i Sport Touring in Sierra Red. Manual, 139k, £750.
If you've kept your eye on E36 prices lately you might see this as a bit of a bargain. It's got heated leather too, so I was pretty excited to say the least.
It's got to be the rustiest BMW I've ever owned though. The sills and underside aren't too bad but the doors, bootlid, and wings are far from perfect.
The interior is exceptionally clean though! The engine and running gear are as you'd expect, perfect.
Plan is to run around in the car for a few weeks and see if it proves itself worthy for a restoration. In good fettle, I believe it could be a £3k car.
