They got the interior of the E46 just right, still looks as good as it did back then.
I've always loved the E46 interior and it is definitely one of Bmw's best I reckon.

Indeed the e46 was my first ever BMW nearly 20 years ago Lee, I loved that car.

I love these. cool

I know SUV's are completely disliked on PH but I've always loved the X5 for sure. The 40d engine suits these very nicely as well for me.

Heres my pride and joy, its an 08 330i M Sport. I replaced the style 225m wheels with a set of Riva DTM 19 inch wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tyres and im super happy with the look.

Next upgrade when i can get the money together is a set of Bilstein B12 Pro shocks and springs later in the year.

It sure does. But when it was launched, the door-to-dashboard interface just looked odd - and I still think it looks a bit 'afterthought'. Why not make them look like the same person designed each piece?

The E36 looked cleaner:

The e36 in your picture looks its age in everyway, the e46 cab interior shown before looks fresh and pretty modern as well as pleasing to my eye, I see nothing in the doorcard/dash "marriage point" to irk me, but we're all different I guess.

Looks lovely, nice to see some people looking after decent cars, however old.

I'll tell you why that is, The Americans.

US Regulations found that Americans did not wear their seatbelts, and as a result they were doing all sort of bad things, like going under the dash, and being killed by airbags. As a result, the U.S Government said there had to be more space between the airbag and dash trims/occupant. BMW did this by adding more padding to USDM cars. in the E39 5 series, the dash and door trims don't line up on USDM models.

Since that photo I've been busy with the clay bar, DA and Meguiars Ultimate compound, she looks almost brand new when polished and waxedsmile

Is it Le Mans Blue? My E90 330i and E53 4.8iS were both that colour and it is a lovely colour when clean for sure. coolthumbup

Thanks for that - a more constructive answer than 'the E36 looks dated' when all I was pointing out was the weird doorcard-to-dash interface. Every day is a school day - thanks JakeT!
