Before I go and kill myself !!!!!

I have a 2001 330 Ci with the manky wood trim inside. I recently bought some 2nd hand silver trim off a 2003 coupe (absolutely spotless). I'm afraid my budget doesn't stretch to some mighty fine carbon fibre stuff at the mo...

Anyhoo, I've fitted the dashboard stuff (in about a minute), the trim around the gearstick (easy) and the steering wheel (christ, talk about over-engineering, there was about 6 bolts holding on a wee bit of plastic !)

I've been back and forth trying and trying to get the door trim changed but to no avail. I've got a Haynes manual but it's as detailed as the Beano, and I can't find the info anywhere. I haven't even attempted the back arm rests yet.

Honestly, I'm friggin demented. There are 3 Torx screws at the lower end of the driver's arm rest which I have taken out, as well as the door mirror controls (there is supposed to be a screw behind that, according to Haynes, but there isn't). So with all the screws out there is still not even the slightest bit of play in the arm rest, it just will not move. I'm almost at the stage of hitting it with a 12lb hammer !!!! It's not even as if the middle of the whole door card is loose with the screws out, so I don't think taking the door card off at the edge clips will make any difference.

Can anyone please help, I'm going doo-lally here :-(

I took the door card off mine last summer (as the central locking actuator packed up).
I'm sure the how to guide goes through it all but it isnt that bad getting off, theres a bolt behind the 'Airbag' label that just pops off and then there other torx bolts, remmeber to disconnect the battery to prevent the side air bag going off and when you put the door card back on try and align it to the window as much as possible as the first time I did it it wasnt flush and I had to do it again.
Its not that difficult when u get going.
